Ok I think you're missing what I'm saying about 01. Yes I agree with you it was a talented roster but the team on the field wasn't one of our greatest alltime. These young players we keep going back and forth about were talented and yes a lot of em ended up being pros what I'm trying to get you to see is a player at 18 isn't the same player at 21. Sometimes yes they can be great right away but in most cases they grow and improve mentally and physically. Saban liked to redshirt players you didn't see as many true freshman contributing as you do now. I believe these reasons are why they weren't on the field as freshman.

I just find it laughable that if you held yourself to the standards you hold lsu coaches too, you wouldve blown your brains out.

Thats on him. In no way does that subtract the player's talent from the team. Contribution and playing time dont affect talent at all.
2001 is easily one of the most talented rosters in lsu history. Saban's decision to not play or redshirt players has no affect on that.
Yes a 11-2 season is better than a 10-3 season.
10-3 with a west title just means the division sucked.

Then that's Saban's fault because he clearly had the talent. He had some of the greatest players, at their positions, to ever wear P&G and he lost 12 games in 3 years. I still love ya. Lets let this thread die.

Ok this is were we differ a 10-3 sec title team could actually mean that the conf was tougher thus harder to achieve the 11-2 mark. But you're right just glancing at the record 11-2 is better than 10-3 on a fundamental level.

I would. To me an sec title is second only to the national champ. Now that's just my preference but I would take the sec champ over the extra 2 wins

2001 sec west was dog shite. We had 2 teams above .500 in conf play.
I realize that title winning teams do get more love and 20 years from now no one will care that 2001 lsu had 3 conf losses. All they will care about is we were champs, so i realize im in he minority.
