Jayden Daniels passer rating of 208.01 is the highest passer rating of any Heisman Trophy winner.

Jayden's fast, but these LB's and DB's he's about to be looking at are pretty fast too.

NFL LB’s will be just as fast, and if they aren’t then they are so good at taking the correct angles that Jayden’s scrambles won’t be as effective.

You can spy him, but that’s one less man in coverage. Shouldn’t be a problem until he’s able to read defenses at the next level so that won’t work for long.

Then you can blitz him, but he’ll eventually figure that out.

Then you’re screwed and Jayden will crush you. I see an MVP in his future.

Vick's completion % in NFL I don't think was ever much above 50.

Career was 56.8%. Best season was 62.6. 2 seasons over 60, 2 below 50 (his rookie seasons and the season he returned after being out for the dog fighting thing). 8 of 13 above 54 %.

I don’t think it is a scheme that can contain him, it’s more about the individual players. If you got a great defensive back field that can shut down the WR with man to man. At that point you try to just give up the yards in between the 20s. If you are weak he is going to expose you.

learn how to avoid taking hits.

I think this is the limiting factor. a couple of times getting nailed by a pro LB who didn't fall for the shifty feet will discourage that - or else he will be severely injured.

he can still be effective but the 85 yd td sprints will have to be sacrificed for a 1st down p/u and defensive slide.

what he did in college will never be excelled = most amazing thing I ever saw.

It just takes discipline, I believe "Chief" laid out the blueprint when stopping Manzel.

I think some of us are forgetting how well this OL blocked for Jayden. This OL blocked VERY WELL in pass protection for Jayden by not only straight up holding up the DL but making them lose contain and opening up running lanes. Furthermore Diggs and Williams were very good blocking RBs.

Will JD have the same level of blocking at the next level? Realistically from a relative standpoint, likely not. Joe Burrow struggled a bit at the Bengals with a relatively poor OL.

That's kindof a disservice to Jayden daniels. His 208 passer rating was the HIGHEST EVER in college football.

Plenty have done what he did in college style wise. It rarely translates to the NFL consistently over a career. Faster defenses etc. but if anyone can do it it’s Jayden. Most guys with his style don’t have the accurate passing ability to go along with it.

ne way is to have a linebacker shadow him the whole game. Although it will be extremely difficult to do that when the offense goes spread with 5 WR.
There's like 3 linebackers in the NFL who could effectively spy Daniels, and 2 of them went to LSU. Even if you put a spy on him, Daniels showed time and time again that he can win the open field battle.

Also spy's don't work in the NFL that much because they'll just be schemed out of the game within 2 plays. Just have an RB release late, or like you said, go 5 wide.

It's pretty simple. If JD has a receiving corp that inspires enough confidence for him to take 1 on 1 shots, an offense he runs will not be stopped.

I hope he continues it in the NFL but it would be ignant to say it’s a guarantee. Everyone’s faster in the NFL and he won’t have 2 first round WRs running around wide arse open. His success in the NFL would only help LSU in the long run.

You have to play zone against JD and your d line has to stay disciplined in their rush lanes. NFL defenses do a better job of this and disguising delayed blitzes up the middle. JD can still escape but the LB or S in short zones are so fast they limit the scramble yardage.

The same way they've contained QBs like him for years with violence! Everyone wants to run the QB a 100 plus times a year and the end result is always the same very few win the big game.

You stop him by loading the box and always accounting for him. The problem is that the two first rounders on the outside are going to beat your CBs one on one.

JD will not have an OL in the NFL like he had at LSU.

He needs to understand that throwing the ball away is not a bad thing. Running every single time protection breaks down is how you end your career early(see RGIII). He's not Jalen Hurts, nor is he the shifty athlete that Lamar Jackson is. Make your athleticism an asset, not a liability.

Honestly, I think itll be easier than you expect. Jayden is not exactly known for being a brilliant reader of the defense. Really he is a progression thrower, meaning post snap he goes from primary to secondary and then run. In todays NFL they disguise zone coverage so well that you have to be able to read pre snap and get to your hots and that isnt really his game. I think he will see alot of 3 man fronts with either a spy or a delayed/disguised LB blitz pretty often. I would excpect him to struggle this year and then get better as he learns to diagnose pre snap. Similar to Lamar.

NFL defenses are so much better than college defenses it’s insane. I can’t remember exactly who it was but I remember listening to a former player talk about it. He said in college if you have a general understanding of defenses you know exactly what coverage they are in when you walk up to the line of scrimmage. In the NFL you can walk up to the line of scrimmage, think you know what coverage they are in, then when you snap the ball it completely changes. Add in the fact that every player is bigger, stronger, and faster
