I hope he would come out and play 1 quarter at least. It would show great unity under Coach K.

I hope he doesn't play. I don't care about Wisconsin all that much, what matters is next year. So let's give Nuss the practice reps and the game time experience.

Nuss has been a good soldier all year and deserves this. In fact, if Jayden doesn't play I will bet one of his reasons is to let Nuss have the start.

He should at least start the game then turn it over to Nuss but be on the sideline in uniform supporting the team. Same for Malik and Thomas, at least start.

Amazing how the overall attitudes have changed in the past 10 years.

Fournette got serious grief, and I mean major grief, for skipping the bowl and he was a Top 3 draft pick.

Now….. everyone thinks it’s more than fine to skip a bowl game and expected.

Just an observation.

I don't see him skipping the bowl game.

Just like Burrow wouldn't miss it. They are cut fron the same cloth. Lsu was lucky to have them both.

It's accurate. My best guest is that was in Year 3 of the playoffs. The public/fan/player interest for non-playoff bowls has continued to wane each year since the inception of the playoff. My hunch is that when the playoff expands, it will wane even more. May not be apples to apples, but the NIT used to be nice consolation to the NCAA now teams turn down the invitation. Perception changes over time.

Love Jayden Daniels he has paid his dues to LSU he put the team on his back and carried them .I cannot imagine the stress ofknowing you basically have to score every time you have the ball on the offense .definitely appreciate him he put Louisiana first he came in here he booted up if he doesn't want to play in the bowl game that's fine with me he has been a true tiger although I would love to see him play 1 more half in college but going home to the NFL is fine with me

So many folks saying:
"It's cool if he skips it."
"It doesn't really count as anything."
"It's just an exhibition game that doesn't really matter."

Fine. It's just an exhibition game since it's not part of the CFP. Hell, why send ANY of the fekkin' team to play? It's just a pointless game anyway.

Y'all are a bunch of entitled candy-asses. If you're a player who was on the team during the season you should support your teammates by playing in the bowl game. You owe it to them and you owe it to your opponent for the bowl game. Anything less is being a self-centered count.

Unpopular opinion: If he doesn't play in the bowl game he isn't worthy of the coveted award he recently received.

Kid's so much fun to watch I'm kind of sad that he's done at LSU. But his draft stock is so high, it'd almost be irresponsible to play in a meaningless bowl game.

He has done his bit. The bowl games are not what they once were.

Have a downvote.
Bowls are not what they used to be. And it appears that we decided to go to a third tier bowl against an unranked opponent, when there certainly should have been better options. Winning this bowl means we have ten wins, otherwise it is meaningless and i do not want any of the guys who have paid the price here and have a chance to make money in the NFL to lose money playing a bowl which we probably should not be playing in
It will be a good opportunity for practice and PT for next year's players.

I hope he does. He can't risk an injury just for an exhibition game. It's his call of course, maybe he really wants to play, but in this case it's more prudent not to.

For 99% of the seniors this is their last time ever getting to suit up. It should be a farewell and last hoorah.

Not to mention- a lot of guys can improve their draft stock with a good game.

Bowl games have their place they just don't matter as much anymore

I would actually prefer to see Nuss get the start and play the entire game. There is no benefit to Jayden playing again. He has accomplished as much as he can this year, the meaningless bowl game will not improve his draft stock anymore. Also, I would like to see how Nuss operates in the bowl going into next season.

I would expect both BTJ and Nabers to only play for a short amount of time to not risk injury but to get Nabers the receiving yds record and maybe get BTJ a few plays. I would expect a lot of rotation at the receiver position and think that would be beneficial to the young receivers and Nuss to get more reps together heading into spring and next season.

It's a celebration for seniors and guys who will never play again, many guys also can improve their draft stock with a damn strong showing.

Jayden could throw for 1000 yard and rush for 500 and nothing would change for him, lsu or anyone.

But if he tears up his knee, falls out of the first round and doesn't have a successful NfL career that actively hurts LSU and Jayden.

You know how much money Jayden has made for Malik and Brian Thomas?

You know how many games we would have lost without Jayden? Dude we might not be going to a bowl without Jayden Daniels. Who the frick does he owe?

Self-centered is hilarious. It's the best thing for his family and LSU but I'll be sure to let him know that it hurts your feelings.

I love it , it means nothing except getting BK's 10th win......
Let Nuss get all the reps let's see how he reacts as the qb 1, it's a job interview.

I would be disappointed. I would really like to see him play one more game. But the game isn’t what it used to be, so I wouldn’t be mad at him. He’s done nothing but good things for LSU.

I have always thought that guys should play in the game and finish the season with the team. Go out and win one more with your team. Most of the guys on the team won’t sniff an NFL roster and their careers will end at LSU. Go win it for the dudes whose last game will be some bowl game. But, that’s neither here or there these days.
