Their defense except for when they played the Chiefs have not been able to get key stops. The interior injuries hasn't helped things. But their defense had more holes in it than Swiss cheese.

They aren’t bad Jayden Daniels is just better.

The offensive line pressure made Joe hurry his throws and they had to check down a lot. That shows up in the red zone, field goals instead of TD's.
Defensive line couldn't get consistent pressure. When they did, JD made a crazy throw for a TD.
Bengals have a ton of injuries on both lines.
The middle rounds have not produced well for them.
Their defense is made up of Saints players.
Joe's contract will hinder this team.
They will not mortgage the future to win in the present.
Joe's early success will straddle him with a bad coach who is a mediocre play caller at best.
They are poor talent evaluators, because they have yet been able to protect him since he has been there.
Take your pick. Also, the Commanders have a good defense, and JD doesn't know he is not supposed to be good yet. Other teams haven't adjusted to him yet.

This post is a fantastic example of why the Rant is so bad at football

Kind of reminds me of the Colts when Manning was there.
Spend all the money on offense and none on defense.
Yeah it's always great to give players top dollar that they deserve but that means you will lack in other areas.
That's why they have a salary cap.

What makes zero sense is that Burrow is in year 5, is one of the highest paid QBs in the league, and the Bengals are ok with trotting out that offensive line.

If you don't punt and don't turn the ball over you should probably win the game. Unless the same thing happens on the other side, and they score TD's instead of FG's.

It was a bananas game with no punts or turnovers. The difference was 3 versus 7 (and Cincy missed a FG and were robbed of an opportunity to re-try for 2 because of bad officiating).
Production-wise, Cincy was a little ahead of Washington. Washington won, primarily on JD's arm, due to efficiency and scoring.

quote:uh, the Bengals offense had zero punts last night, and every possession ended in either a TD, made FG, or missed FG.
That offense is predictable as shite and does nothing to make it easier of Burrow or any of them.
Their offense isn't the problem.

Is Matt House on their coaching staff?
No but he is on Jacksonville's defensive staff and their defense is dog shite.

Zac Taylor and their defense is shite.

Collective slop.
Week one, they only scored 10 and lost to the freaking patriots, the same team Aaron Rodgers just carved up like a thanksgiving turkey.
Week two, huge fumble leading to a scoop and score and not being able to get stops late hindered them
Week three, couldn’t stop Jayden Daniels who was playing like a man possessed.
However, all 3 games there were chances to win, but they could not capitalize.

How can the bengals be this bad with Joe and Chase?
Did you watch the game? Did you happen to notice that you NEVER saw Washington's punter last night? Did you see how Cincinnati's defense got ZERO stops the entire game? Do you know that Burrow and Chase do not play defense? Did you also notice that you never saw Cincinnati's punter last night, which means Burrow and Chase pretty much did their job of putting the offense in position to score on every single drive?
It is like some of you people have absolutely zero critical thinking skills.

Joe and Chase did have a pretty good game. Also, Chase was doubled up on 75% of his routes.
Coaching, or the lack of, is the reason, i.e. the Pete Carmichael effect.

Two losses by 3 points, one to the best team in the League. But their defense has been terrible, last year as well.
Posted on 9/24/24 at 10:08 am to guy4lsu
he had a great game last night. The defense is arse and the line hasnt improved enough. They lost Mixon, Jonah Williams, Jessie Bates they seem to be moving backward and they'll likely lose Higgins next year.

quote:Game 1 their defense only gave up 16 points
Their defense is legitimately terrible
Game 2 their defense only gave up 19 points
You can only blame the defense for one loss
