re: How are other live mascots able to take the field but Mike has to stay in his kitty lair?

This question every year. Idiots just don't get it
Well, idiots aren’t necessarily wimps who bend the knee to progressive ideology that ruins all traditions. It was a good tradition. Opposing players from years ago still occasionally mention how awesome/intimidating that was.
Think tigers never get stressed in the wild? Good for the heart and senses to experience stressful situations occasionally. Plus, train a cat when he is young and he will get used to it.

You absolute moron, tigers are an endangered species. It’s not easy to just get a new one if you haven’t paid attention to that process when LSU gets a new Mike. There are few credible organizations that you can work with and with restrictions because bengal tigers are endangered. If you start parading the tiger around and putting it in the stadium, you don’t get a new tiger. But yeah I’m sure your simpleton, zero knowledge, tough dude answer is right!

Why doesn’t Baylor let their live bears roam the field before games?

Who is saying Mike has to roam the field?!? He has a cage for a reason.

Well it’s been explained countless times why he isn’t let on the field anymore. But doesn’t Baylor stick their two bears in a cage and drag them around the field?

I don’t see why they can’t put him in the cage to make 1 quick run around the stadium, then get out before the fireworks and what not. That’s such an advantage to be able to parade a live tiger in front of visiting recruits.

It was fine for 80 years then suddenly in like 2014 it wasn’t and now everyone clutches their pearls and acts like you’re an idiot for suggesting it continue. The issue was the fireworks. We should never have done the fireworks while he was in the stadium.

He probably soaks his crawfish in salt water to purge them too.

Because the other mascots are domesticated animals that don’t stress around people and Mike is basically a monster in a box.

Probably the same reason Baylor doesn't have live bears, or Michigan have live wolverines, or Kentucky doesn't have wildcats.
Now if we had a mascot like UC Santa Cruz, Akron , or Stanford , I can see the problem.

Baylor does have live bears, but they are in a habitat just like Mike. Not be trotted around the field pregame.
I ask the same question every time someone brings this up. If your kids thought it was fun to bang pots and pans in your dog’s face and the dog hated it, would you let your kid keep doing it because they thought it was fun?

The vets who are knowledgeable say it would be harmful.
They know more than we do. Maybe they’re liberal Democrats. lol

The issue was the tiger would not get in the cage at all. They tried multiple different things to get him in. They even recorded live chicken house sounds and had them replayed in the cage with dead chickens inside to entice him to go in. That failed and it was basically done after that. They tried plenty and the cat wouldn't budge. No need to stress animals out for this.
Nothing to do with fireworks
I supplied the dead chickens to try and get him in

Soft and squishy.

He’s a WILD TIGER and only plays offense, we don’t need him yet, tried to play him at DB, had too many penalties, a lot Face Guarding no play on ball- seems to just RIP WRs face off.

Because having thousands and thousands of fans bombard his enclosure and the band marching and fans yelling and screaming 100 ft away from him in the Tiger Walk doesn’t stress him but going inside the stadium will. Really weird where we decide to draw the line on this

They have never tried with Mike VII.
