Did you watch our special teams under O? Greg McMahon was an elite ST coach and the lone bright spot on the team. We always had touchbacks, punt coverage was excellent and FG/PATs were automatic. Things we don’t get with Polian.

You can’t just make guys analysts and have them still do what he’s doing. And what’s he doing right now is locking down a top 4 class in year one.

I get that he has strengths, its just his weakness is causing us to lose games. They need to make him like TE coach or leave him as ST coordinator but hire him an assistant that actually knows how to coach special teams to run the meetings and practice.

This Dude’s honeymoon ended quickly. He’s taking major shots from fans and media. He now has his boss doing his job.

I bet he hasn’t left his house for other than the office. No more Am Mart sandwiches till special teams has a clean game.

Arky is dead last at passing in the country. There's got to be someone tied to that.

Well Kelly said in a news conference that Polian is the best Special Teams Coach in College Football so there’s that.

Idk but after 3 weeks of watching football I’ve seen multiple teams suffering on special teams. Whether it’s missed field goals, kicking balls out of bounds on kick offs, fielding punts inside the 10. It’s been strange.

The depth players that usually fill out special teams are too few, and inexperienced.

BP is a great coach, as time will prove !

You get 10 on-field assistants. Polian is going to have one of those spots, as has already been stated, for recruiting reasons.

So sure you can move him to TE coach (which is another role often used for a recruiter). But who are you going to demote (or fire) to open up a spot for another special teams coordinator?

Many other programs with recruiters in the STC role hire GAs and analysts specifically to assist with special teams. That’s probably the long term answer.

Orgeron went out and hired a true special teams coordinator with NFL bona fides. McMahon was indeed a bright spot.

That said, Orgeron’s approach was more the exception than the rule. He’s not the only coach at a major CFB program to do so, but I would say we were in the minority. A lot of programs don’t even have a special teams coordinator, or they have one that doubles as a position coach.

Ultimately every head coach has to decide how to allocate his 10 on-field assistant roles, and the balance of recruiting vs. coaching is a huge part of that decision.

Show me another team that has had significant lapses on every special teams unit through 3 games?

Miami looked pretty garbo vs A&M

As I’ve been saying, the later is the most likely outcome. LSU has the money to get him all the help he needs.

I dont get the hate for denbrock. He is running an offense with new personnel. The offense was clunky in game 1, which is pretty common. The offense was great in game 2, and pretty good in game 3. Players are open, the oline has gotten better, and the run game got going. So why is everyone hating denbrock?

Biggest negative comment I hear on Denbrock is that he is not calling a good game. Every film guru I have seen so far has been uber complimentary of Denbrock's play calling. The problem has been we (JD) have not been executing it efficiently or as designed.
