If money is an issue, we are heading back to a early 90’s dark era. Seeing the valley at 50,000-60,000 will be the sign.

So you think boosters are just okay to fire this guy with 6 years left on his contract and after having spent $20m on a roster are just gonna be cool with giving Woody another $100m to get a whole new coaching staff, plus whatever a rebuilt roster is going to cost?

Firing and hiring a new offensive staff then paying Kelly 43 million in 2026 to leave costs just as much as letting him go now. Plus a half empty stadium and decease NIL support will hurt you if you keep Kelly. Time to vote the bullet and move on

Ticket sales won’t crater like people are saying. People here talk big once those renewals hit, they’ll submit like they always to

TV money is where it’s at now anyway and that’s the same to us either way.

I think even Hester is wrong in this case. I have never been one to believe is so called sources but I have a gut feeling that he gone either now or at end of season

I’ll explain it like you’re 5………

No one has to WRITE a check or bring a suitcase full cash to buyout Kelly and/or hire a new coach. Think a little bit Jesus Christ.
It’s all extend over years of time frame. Hell in 5 years the tv contracts might go up $40 million. Boom there’s all your money and you don’t have to show up with a suitcase full of 60$ million to fire Kelly.

I am as realistic as they come.

But 53 million or two cents, it’s to the point you can’t afford NOT to fire Kelly.

It’s insanely stupid to fire Kelly from a financial standpoint. It could set us back years financially.

What don’t you understand that firing him this yr vs next only makes a slight difference nominally. The rest of his contract isn’t due upon firing, it’s paid out yearly and that number can reduce if he gets another job.

I just don’t see it at this point. It’s so bad to where they will do whatever it takes to have him gone by the end of the year or next year at the very latest

I don’t think anybody in this thread understands how contracts work. Why would you need 100m right now to fire and hire people and pay rosters?

Ii booster are not okay with spending $50 million to fire Kelly, they should have never approved the AD to sign the contract. Do these guys not read what they sign or they are too naive or simple to understand what the contingencies plans need to be. Don't sign a contract you can't afford, that means understanding the impact every year and being able to buy your way out every year. Its not that complicated!
