Gonna be a fun morning seeing all the guys who smugly were like “ha! Check mate bitch” after the conference rules vote

How did TigerDroppings know this the minute the SEC issued that statement, but the SEC did not?

Did they think the players would just give up and lose football forever, the thing they love most in life? Or lose out on money, the next thing they love most? (Outside of God and Family)

This was a very stupid play by the conferences. They just exposed themselves to being powerless just like the NCAA is.

This got real for Sankey in a hurry.

If this is truly the outcome, how does he possibly survive as commissioner after this?

I think they thought the Sorsby route was going to strong arm a win for them by teams not wanting to take the risk of the penalties

But for one it’s not directly LSU or the teams making this a fight, it’s the players and lawyers and judges

And two, Sorby would’ve had more leg to stand on if he wasn’t in trouble for something so taboo for the sport (gambling on your own sport), and he would’ve had more of an argument if the NCAA had arbitrarily not punished other players who also gambled on the game. Much easier thing to tell Tech to drop it than the scenario the SEC found itself in

It’s definitely a stain for Sankey, but that’s his problem not ours

I’d like to thank Diego Pavia and Trinidad Chambliss for making this all possible. Sankey stuck his head up his own arse and it got stuck.

I wonder if the SEC will retract their "new rule" prior to September 3rd, or simply make it applicable for the 2027 season onward

I bet they move it to next year and try to save face. Unbelievably stupid to think he would win in court after getting dunked on with the Pavia and Chambliss situations.

As far as the CFP is concerned, the lawyers haven’t been heard from yet…who says they can’t be sued?

Where's all the panicky legal eagle LSU fans who swore that the SEC didn't have to follow the injunction because it was a voluntary league?

Neither was Texas Tech. They caved because of the backlash and had to pay him to go away because he was signed.
