No official lawsuits were filed in that case, but the head guy at Tech was openly out there making the case and demanding they back down at first before they realized it was going to create more of a mess than it was worth. Were saying the same thing.

Sankey was dumb to go so strong on an issue he was likely to lose. This is a one season phenomenon. He should have let it pass and planted the flag on next season going forward. He now looks weak and it’s completely due to his own ineptness. Don’t fight losing battles.

The players and schools are going to have to deal with the College Football Playoff committee to make sure they are put in check as well...

Thank you. Was ridiculous to begin with, but now picking and choosing which court orders are acceptable and throwing in penalties seemed wrong.

It sounds like SEC will follow court orders but still stay in the fight through the court system per Dellenger

100%, he stepped right in it. The absurdity of all of this is enough to get the College Sports Act moving forward. Could you have publicly expressed displeasure but said we have to follow court orders.
Could have simply been an anomaly for this year and let this get corrected through congressional action.

Yeah, some posters on here would make horrible lawyers. They amazingly thought the conferences had more power than the NCAA in courts and had better lawyers than the NCAA....obviously not. And someone even compared this to the Sorges/Texas Tech/Big 12 situation. Not even remotely the same. EVERYONE knew that the Sorges deal was 100% against him. Also, the NCAA, the SEC, Big 10, etc basically lost this case when they enacted a policy that would have given these players an OPTION for another college season and did it just a couple of months after the pro drafts. I am still amazed someone didn't see this one coming. Ray Charles wearing sunglasses on a moonless night should have seen this.
