It kinda looks like that sometimes. Maybe our coaches can’t see the forest for the trees. It happens more than you realize. “Experts” are not always right.

Experts aren’t always right but the rants batting average makes Braswell look like a HOF. The coaches know infinitely more than us fan.

Pretty strong endorsement by Kelly yesterday

He delivered a strong message on Friday.

“I’ve coached for a long time. I’ve got a lot of guys in the NFL, a lot of first round draft picks,” Kelly said. “I think I’ve got a pretty good eye for what an offensive line looks like. This group is going to be really good.”

Our OL is getting ripped apart by a defense that was below average last year

No they’re not. This is not the defense that played last year.

EXACTLY! Besides didn't all I hear last year was our D sucked? We should all be happy. Also you want your D winning in pre season.

Kelly recently said the line is starting to play much better and it starts with a veteran center who’s making a big difference.

That’s overstating what’s been said, but several practice reports, podcasts, YouTube videos, etc. from different sources have said the OL has faired better in 1v1 drills than in 11v11.

The issue isn’t going to be individual talent across the OL. It’s going to be them playing as a unit right out of the gate. Hopefully having an experienced Center this year will speed up that process.

wrong...toure not listening to everything out there . also to the op. yes bk in his last PC said that he has coached o lines for 30 years and he knows what the good ones look like, this one he said will be really good.
our d line has been a monster which is believable based on the players on it.

1 on 1s are drills against the d lineman 1 vs 1 . team drills are 11 on 11 or 5on 5 . all it shows as t h at the players are good enough to beat the guy across from them but as a group have to continue to gel. there have been reports of the i line playing good lately. its not hard to find this stuff

CBK has plenty of time. He’s not going anywhere for years regardless what happens in Clemson, SC.

How about this quote by Kelly?
quote:

“Look, I’ve coached for a long time, had a lot of guys in the NFL, a lot of first round draft picks,” Kelly said Friday at a press conference. “I think I’ve got a pretty good eye for what an offensive line looks like. And this group is going to be really good.”

What CBK said about the OL is coach speak. Were you expecting him to say we suck or we look really bad? No coach is going to say that because that means he doesn't know how to recruit and he doesn't how to coach. If the OL was doing so well, why wasn't he talking about them with high praise like he did daily when discussing the defense.

The key words CBK said was "going to be really good." Does "going to be really good" mean in 3 games or 5 games? Does that mean the OL gets a pass for the Clemson game?

CBK is a veteran coach and he knows how to use coach speak to control the narrative. The reality is we still don't have a starting five two weeks from the opening of the season and the defense has had its way during the scrimmages. That's not the kind of news you want to hear with a huge game against Clemson on the horizon.

Kelly acknowledged last year that there were issues at DB so it’s not like he ignores the obvious.. And there have been multiple reports of the OL winning 1x1 drills. They have said it’s not a physicality issue it’s a gelling issue. The amount of skirts on this site is ridiculous. One thing Kelly knows is OL and TE so I’ll take his opinion over the over emotional knuckleheads on this site.

LSU has recruited its arse off on the offensive line and brought in some solid transfers to shore up losses. With a bunch of new guys it’s going to take some time.

This is exactly why you dot need to be playing 4th ranking Clemson on the road for the first game! LSU will lose primarily because of a rebuilt Oline and all these posters drinking the koolaid will want to fire BK when the scheduler shoud be fired.
