Come on...these guys don't even pretend to be students anymore with transferring 5 times in 5 years.
Academic standards including true annual full time progress towards a degree within 4 or 5 years needs to be a part of eligibility requirements if they wish to distinguish between student athletes and professional athletes in this era.
It would be fairly easy and the goal of most outside of too many football and basketball athletes.

LSU is paying both Sam Leavitt and Jordan Seaton 4+ million dollars each to play football.
Doubtful
What is doubtful? Paying those 2 players 4+ million bucks? Because that’s public knowledge.

but how do we know that these people weren’t enrolled a few weeks ago?
Good point. Plenty of players move on to other jobs and finish their degree online. Or they could’ve enrolled knowing they might get cut in the nfl.

Two things.. one they have a last date to add/drop classes after school starts.
Two they have a mid semester course of classes that is 8 weeks intensive course
Thank you for adding some actual factual information for the sake of people that don't understand enrollment in universities and make statements that are proof of their lack of knowledge.

Did you not go to college? Pretty much every school has an add/drop date that is around a week or two after the first day of class.

Wednesday Sept 2 is the last day to add/drop classes here, or to enroll or withdraw from school here at LSU.

It also wouldn’t be very hard for us to have all of them enrolled already. If they get their win we play them, if Thursday goes bad then we are out some registration fees and such.

Do you really think academic standards of eligibility don’t exist? What you’re asking for “this era” has been in place for decades.

Classes have started, right? So kids can come play sports even if they aren’t enrolled in school? Makes no sense… I don’t blame Kiffin at all, but college sports will be ruined with this clown show
Dude players are getting 4 and 5 million a year to play college football. Carson Beck hadn’t taken a course in several years when he played for Miami last year. How is this current offseason the “ruining” of college sports. It needs to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

We are finally fully aligned. From the governors office all the way to the water boy.
From football to soccer.
You think something as simple as enrollment date and class registration day is going to get in the way of this train?

Have you been living under a rock?

Kids have to enroll by wednesday and have to win their appeal in court on thursday so they are going to have to sign up for classes and hope for the best. Then they have to have one week of being enrolled before they can participate in activities. So Junior Tuihalamaka is enrolled and is starting to practice this week. The other guys are going to have to enroll early this week, win the appeal, join the team, sit out week 1, and hope to practice towards the tail end of next week before the week 2 game.

It’s a combination university and athletic trade school.
