Not at all?
Li'l bit?
Yep?
Whole bunch?

I'll confess, it has mine li'l bit. So here's some #s.

In Jay's first five seasons through tonight, his regular season SEC record is 77-70 (.524); all SEC games 92-77 (.544).

For comparison, in CPM's last five seasons (2016-2021), his regular season SEC record was 85-65 (.567); all SEC games 100-75 (.575). He was an even .500 in his last three SEC regular seasons.

This season will be an outlier. Times are different. Jay fricked up this roster, admitted as much, and will fix his mistakes. Don't read too much into it.

His SEC record is way too mediocre for a team with the tradition of LSU. It’s just not good enough

Absolutely not. But I'm stunned it's this bad and shocked that Jay and Yeskie have been unable to fix some of the problems with this staff.

Absolutely not.

The portal is still in its infancy, lets see how Jay adjusts after a year of it not working out.

If next year is middling, then yes...I might have some doubts

Has he admitted that they have coached the players that they do have poorly?

Oh look, another shift led to a big inning instead of an inning ending double play.

fricker is a troll or retarded or both.

We've covered this 100 times. Comparing historical SEC coaching records to present day is pointless. No one will ever dominate the SEC YoY again. The transfer portal, NIL, draft, school investments and focus, etc all make competitive margins in the SEC razor thin.

Pretty easy to see why this season went the way that it went. We'll be right back in Omaha next year and everyone but about 5 miserable people will forget about '26.

Just one: how could a coach who won 2 nattys in a 4 year period, fall this far this fast?

It's basically a rhetorical question at this point since it's been discussed ad nauseum.

No, but I do think it’s a fair question to ask why can’t Jay put together back to back seasons. Even going back to his time at Arizona he’s never advanced past regionals in back to back seasons. Something the heavy vast majority of experienced SEC coaches have done. I know people like to blame playing late into Omaha, but that hasn’t been nearly the issue for some guys as it has been for Jay. It’s a reason, but it’s not an acceptable one.
