The game plan against Florida was for the offense to play not to lose, and especially not to turn the ball over. Kelly was likely not wanting to risk a fumble with a true freshman RB. I would expect to see a lot of Berry this week.

Running back position will keep LSU from championship contention

Running back has been the least worrisome position on offense other than possibly wide receiver.

As someone who watched from end zone about 20 rows up, there were holes. We seemed to run into the masses of bodies instead of running to open green grass.

Thinking Harlem Berry would stay at LSU for 5 years is absurd.

In the very unlikely chance he would, just means he isn’t who we think he is

Play him.

I understand the frustration. However, we’re already talking about being too predictable. Using Berry more will make us more predictable as the schedule gets tougher. The few times Berry tried to pass pro have been borderline disastrous. He almost got Nuss killed a couple times against UF during his short playing time. When you put a player with such an extreme deficiency on the field, SEC defenses know how to exploit it.

The problem is he’s not good in pass protection yet so when he comes in you basically know it’s a run and he’s getting the ball

Berry’s missed blocks will get Nuss killed. You’ll notice when backs learn to block they get on the field

GA, AL, Mi, OR would be a better place for you as a fan. 2 of your "better" colleges have a loss. LSU is ranked ahead of all of your "better" colleges. LSU needs "better" fans than you.

I don’t think the poster is saying those are “better” colleges, he is saying to be at one of those might be a better fit or chance to carry the ball more. I’m not sure of those college schemes or depth at the position, just didn’t want to take out of context from what I thought he ment.

This, he whiffed hard on 1 pass block this game and fortunately Nuss is good at getting rid of the ball early enough.

However I will say how are we 25% through the regular season and Berry doesnt have a catch yet is criminally bad offense. Get that due the ball out in space please, no offense to Ju'Juan Johnson but these outside runs and catches should be going to Berry instead. And for those wondering, Johnson hasnt pass blocked well at all, his PFF grade is 35.0 pass blocking.

If this is the plan, it was dumb to give berry 1 carry vs Clemson and 1 carry vs Florida. Waste of 2 games.

Crazy talk- let him get his feet wet against lesser opponents.

Durham, JJ and use Thomas more imho

Does it really matter who gets the carries?

As long as RBs are having to dodge defenders behind the line of scrimmage, even Barry Sanders would have a hard time gaining yards.

Absolutely 100%. He faster than Caden Durham and has more burst. Will he sit behind him for another couple years, absolutely not.

Which is absurd considering that Berry is also a great receiver. Bring him in and split him out wide.

For some reason Durham who had elite speed in HS like Berry looks slow. His speed has not translated to the college level for some reason. I don't know if it's a combination of being hurt, vision in smaller holes, or he bulked up and lost a step.

Or that college is full of nothing but dudes at Durham‘s level while high school was full of 5’11” 145 pound frat boys?

While Ju'Juan Johnson had 4 carries for 0 yds (including a fumble). I know he's still learning pass protection, but coming off his performance against Tech and with an offense that desperately needs a spark, would be nice to see Berry fed more.

I absolutely cannot stand when you hear "so and so isn't playing because he's still learning pass protection." Cool, don't ask him to pass protect. There's three things a RB can do in this offense. He can carry the football, he can go out on a route, or he can pass block. If you aren't ready for him to pass block, don't ask him to. Let him get a few carries. Let him go out on a pass route. But to take him off the field for that is just poor coaching.

I noticed this at times, too, with Durham. He could have sliced in by the left guard for 2-3 yards minimum but hesitated behind the center and wound up getting tackled for no gain or -1.

Berry needs the majority of carries. His ability to make something out of nothing is sorely needed

Durham and JJ have been playing well. JJ had the big mistake of fumbling but through 3 games, he's look really good. Berry's time will come. He will get 10+ carries this week.
