You didn’t see Kevin Faulk or Leonard Fournette 2015?
I can’t say I saw enough of Cecil to claim he was better than Kevin or Leonard. He’s definitely the best “What if” ever.
I’ll put this up against anyone :

Video is proof that you can have a stellar line, but you still need a back that has vision and power and speed. There’s no other way to say it.

The point is… what would suggest that? LFs game vs Auburn was more dominant than Cecil’s.
Even Guice had better games than Cecile.
Based on the Cecil highlights and the games that I’ve watched since… Cecil was just another solid running back in a long history of great LSU running backs.
Cecil Collins vs Auburn
232 yards, 2 TD, Ave. 8.6, Long 48 yards
Fournette vs Auburn
228 yards, 3 TD, Ave. 12, Long 71 yards
169 at half. Limited 2nd half carries.

I miss those formations. I would like to see it again from time to time. I miss a fullback, and great run blocking. I know I'm old.
Les? Is that you?

The old urban legend of Cecil Collins always appears around this time of year.....

JC Copeland was friggin awesome at FB (well, except for that horrible fumble at the Bama goal line lol)

youa re comparing 1 game?
youa re making my arguments for me
check out cecil the diesel game against Moo u. he was practically great in all games he played in.
LF DID NOT HAVE CECIL VISION OR MOVES
FACT!
you are just looking at stats again with zero context or perspective of the different times also.
using your analogy so because miles had lots of "wons" he was an actual better coach than saban here right?

A true disappointment. So much ability but just an idiot. That was a fun year though

a guy i worked with went to high school with him. he made some poor choices....
at least it was not as bad as when i talked to marcus randalls tutors at the 2002 cotton bowl. they said he was pretty slow....i said you are surely not talking about his speed on the field eh?

He was the most talented RB LSU ever had.

but I have never seen anything like Cecil running through Miss St and Auburn in those two games.
Did you see Lenny against Ole Miss and Auburn? I know the Auburn game was in Jordan Hare but still. I am too young too remember Cecil but that Ole Miss game for Lenny was something else. 16 carries for 284 yards and 3 TDs.

what’s really is insane is that he played 4 college games
hung out for like 2 years and got drafted.

He did stop at McNeese State for a cup of coffee.

I was friends with the stadium announcer who called Leesville's games when Collins was there. He gave me a VHS copy of Cecil's high school highlight film. it truly was a man amongst boys ... reminded me of this analogy - NFL Earl Campbell playing against Prairieview A&M. Insane speed, power, and talent as no one single player could tackle him. Seemed like he ran for over 200 yds every game
Yes. He was unstoppable on sweeps. Saw him play 4x in HS.

Instead he became the biggest waste of talent in LSU history.
meh....debatable....Ryan Perrilloux comes to mind.
Back on topic. Cecil was one of the best I've ever seen. That Auburn game was unreal, as well was LF Auburn game.

Here is my list of backs at LSU:
Cecil Collins - One of the most electric backs and saw him get hurt at Vanderbilt. Was devastating.
Kevin Faulk - His records speak for themselves.
Dalton Hillard - He was the man when I first started watching LSU.
Jeremy Hill - I felt he was underutilized at times. He reminded me some of Cecil.
LF - Dude was exciting to watch.
Harvey Williams - Another great back.
I never got to see Charles Alexander run for LSU. Wish I did.
