A lot of people allegedly knew about it. Guice never missed a game or faced disciplinary action. I’d say it’s an athletic department & university issue

this is purposely obfuscated context

exactly

and it's bad b/c the other situation is REALLY BAD for LSU

the problem is that most of the infrastructure from that era is gone (even our school President) so it's not as sexy of a story

I am telling y’all this story goes so much further than just Guice

Once again, what saves LSU is the former president and AD are gone

Doesn’t make what happened better, but LSU did some weird shite for a long time with this

not because of this situation, but there isn't really a "face" to point it to now

doesn't excuse the alleged Title 9 issues in the first example. it's just that the 2nd one is not so strong against the current infrastructure

Any context you can provide?

Absolutely

But what’s worse, this wasn’t the only football player involved...

Thats the other one that was public. With the same poor girl

So, multiple players, same girl. Almost like a pimp/owner situation. Just sad it seems

Telling people on LSU's staff is good... but why not go to the police and tell them? I hope my daughter is never put in a situation like that but her boyfriend should have encouraged her to take if further if LSU staff wasnt going to.

I just told you what I know

Davis, Guice, and possibly other football players feeling like they had sexual ownership over the same female athlete at LSU

The concerns were brought up to LSU admin by the girl and then parents, and it was buried

Is it true, who knows. But it’s out now

Anyone know the name of the redshirt player or his girlfriend?

I dont typically believe stories like these that dont use names and just make up quotes. Need accountability

Found the name of one of the girls, the only tennis player that was on the roster as an underclassman and then not on the roster the following year and left LSU.

Police is better than telling the school, but in many cases they work together. Look at what happened with Winston at FSU, or read the book Missoula. It's just a horrible situation to be in.

The article is I teresting

The first victim didn’t pursue charges

quote:

The other woman said LSU emailed her after a friend reported the alleged assault, letting the woman know support services were available and asking if she wanted to file a formal complaint. She said she did not file one.

The other one is a issue of her ability to consent. The girl had serious substance abuse problems and the whole situation is that kind of “rape” or “drunk hook up” that makes sexual assault difficult to pursue.

USA Today really is painting LSU in a bad light but it feels like LSU did the right thing at least on their end.

Coach O was the interim coach after what, 3games in 16’?

Guice’ freshman year wasn’t 2016

Edit: Idk why the article says his freshman year, but mentions 2016

These allegations certainly point to a pattern of behavior for Guice. I hope they are false, but I learned a long time ago that looking at those you admire with rose colored glasses only makes you reluctant to accept unpleasant truths when exposed. The big thing here is proper investigation. No matter how crazy an allegation may be, if LSU coaches or other personnel didn’t properly investigate, then that’s bad. Really bad. I hate the negative light this puts LSU in, but if crimes were committed and folks were negligent, justice should be served.

then I'm surprised Joe alleva didn't pull out his old lacrosse playbook and go to town.

actually, thinking out loud, kinda: I wonder if the perception of a black eye from that event made him sit back and wait on it...

Everything I have always heard never had anything to do with O

And Miles really didn’t have any skin in the game either

The AD and university president was properly noticed and knew of the entire situation. So, it’s really not about the football coach, it’s bigger than that
