Agree with this, both numbers have been more negative than positive for the players recently.

For the life of me I don’t understand why Womack doesn’t play more. It may just be my bias but every time he’s on the field he does something positive to be in terms of impacting the play.

our defense wasn’t sunbelt esque last night.

Savion had 2 sacks and didn’t he deflect the 4th and 9 pass?

But Penn and Burns are bad.

Yet another failed #18. When will this tradition die?

18 is about being a team leader more off the field than even on it. If he’s got the right attitude and effort I’m fine with him getting 18

I’m a fat middle aged white guy and I could have had as much as a positive impact as Gilbert did.

Our defense will be a lot better next year when those guys are finally gone. Not talented enough.

Toviano is in the dog house and rightfully so. I’d sub Spears in for Gilbert, Woodland or Jyaire Brown in for Sage, Whit in for Penn, and give Womack more snaps.

Major Burns is not a D1 safety. He's not physical, can’t cover, can’t tackle and is selfish. Go watch some plays last night, he watched his teammates solo tackle, so basically he and I were giving the same effort and I was watching from Florida.

And he is already a better player than Sage Ryan. We have tried the Sage Ryan experiment the last couple years and how has that worked out?

So you want to put them in the "pen" because they got "burned"?

with Savion period embarrassing-

I don’t speak dementia, but if you are insinuating that Savion Jones played bad Sunday night, you need to put the phone or keyboard down. Savion Jones was clearly our best player in that game. He made a ton of plays, some after fighting through obvious holds.

I’d love Womack to get more snaps, but are you taking out Jones or Swinson to do it, and how much are you giving up in run support? I’m sure there are packages with all those 3 on the field together, but who comes out and when is it most strategic? Paris Shand looked pretty good himself, though it seems like he got some snaps on the inside.

We can’t play our best 11 right now. In the meantime, rotating them to keep them fresh is valuable.

We played probably the best offensive play caller in college football, with a QB who was ridiculously accurate, stood in the pocket and made some ridiculous throws under a ton of pressure a lot of times to one of the best WR groups in college football who made 2 or 3 unbelievable catches. And they had 20 points with 59 minutes and 52 seconds left in the game before they finally punched it in to score the winning touchdown, which only gave them
27 total points.

The defense made plenty of mistakes, but that was a helluva performance for a 1st game of the season with a new DC, running a new scheme, against that offense, and coming off probably the worst defensive seasons in LSU history. With an offense that did them absolutely no favors, especially in the 2nd half. I’m pretty optimistic about the defensive performance and the fact that we have 5 weeks before Ole Miss to experiment with and figure out what will wind up being our best personnel combinations.

I think we did a lot of good things to build on and some bad things that should be able to get shored up a little at the very least with the potential of being actually good.
