D’Anton Lynn should get a strong look. He's originally from Texas. He is 34 years old so he can probably recruit decent. Making a million at UCLA so you double his salary.

Downside he's only been a DC for one season and he's probably jumping to the NFL at the first DC offer ala Joe Brady.

I don't think Kelly would bring back Aranda.

Not sure who fits this description, but here is what I would like.

Base Scheme: Either 4-3 or 3-4, don’t really care, but press man coverage for cornerbacks at least 75% of the time.

Additions: Consistently bringing pressure from different levels by aggressive play calling.

this doesn't exist anymore. Between the proliferation of college offenses and the transfer portal, the LSU fan base is generally very slow to adjust to the times

Why wouldn’t Kelly bring Aranda back?

in general, football just isn’t played the same anymore. You line up in a pure 4-3 and load the box, teams with fast paced offenses will kill your secondary. We were just figuring football out in the 2000s lol. The game wasn’t even developed out to what it is now, Now it’s analytics and super spreads everywhere. That’s why defenses like Georgia had last year are a dying breed…

I would gladly take Jeremy Pruitt or Will Muschamp! Both are proven SEC DCs and both are excellent coaches and recruiters! Also, love their energy!

Yea, shoot. Give me a unit like the 2019.

And everyone keeps mentioning Aranda but it is hard not to think about the DBs and LB's left behind that he recruited that have all been arse. That 2020 class is really hurting this year's team.

Someone hard-nosed who wants to hit a mf'er, teach fundamentals, and can recruit.

Poor Pruitt, multiple year show-cause for spending less in a recruiting cycle pre-NIL ($60k) than Jimbo spent in a weekend getting guys with otherwise no interest in College Station, TX.
Pruitt is now an assistant high school coach and walked away with $0 while Jimbo walks away with $76 million.
Life is unfair

I mean that’s great but they need an ace recruiter on defense like they have on the other side of the ball
