I’d rather Minter, Lynn or Baker over Aranda.

this doesn't exist anymore. Between the proliferation of college offenses and the transfer portal, the LSU fan base is generally very slow to adjust to the times

Seems to work for UGA. Kirby doesn't appear to be going away from it anytime soon.

If the Saints part ways with him, I’d like us to reach out to Dennis Hastert.

This is why I’m worried about hiring a great former DC/HC like Aranda

For me it would be Minter from Michigan. He runs a great attacking defense with sound technique, young and supposedly likes to recruit. He’s from the south and has previous ties to coach Kelly. And his current head coach will probably be in the NFL next year. To me the list should start with him

With you on this. I think Minter would be a great fit.

I would follow him with, in no particular order:

- Aranda, assuming availability
- Guidry
- Baker
- Lake, but not sure if he would be interested.
- Shiel Wood. We know he can coach, but might need help recruiting at this level.

Down the list:
- Boom, if interested in being a DC again
- Arnett. We could do worse, but I don’t really want him here.

Aranda did a great job of adjusting to both our new offense and up tempo spreads in 2019. He did a pretty damn good job of bottling up very good OU and Clemson offenses in the playoffs. We all know he’s very intelligent. I don’t see him as one who will let the game pass him up as relatively young as he is.

Strong front 7 play with aggressive schemes

Great tackling & fundamentally sound teacher

He is at Georgia and don’t know if it is a possibility, but I always liked Will Muschamp as a defensive coordinator. D.J Durkin is a good recruiter and coordinator, but I want someone that is more aggressive.

Someone who coaches an attack the QB kind of defense. Aggressive, disruptive defensive. That’s our LSU D DNA. Sit back, read & react & zone is not for us.

Has to be able to recruit, game plan effectively, teaches fundamental tackling & able to get buy in of his concepts by the players he recruits to our roster.
