What companies are insuring doctors and hospitals that perform child genital mutilation?

Children should be protected. That means sometimes protecting them from themselves. The elders should have the wisdom to provide good guidance. Unfortunately, we are surrounded by people that have no interest in good counsel. They are only interested in their own vanity. A psychologist that encourages madness should have whatever license they may possess taken away. Same for a surgeon agreeing to alter/remove healthy tissue from a child.
We are at an important crossroad in our nation's history. If we lack the ethical judgment to make good decisions on behalf of our children, then we are lost as a people. Men and women of good ethics need to stand against these monsters and remove their privileges.

Gender surgeries on minors are crimes against humanity.

This is fantastic news.
Finally, a positive legal precedent for doctors being discouraged to mutilate children's genitals.

was she an orphan? Where were her parents?

You think it’s an argument for “reason” to allow people to do terrible things just because some evil people manipulated a piece of paper to have their words on it?
Wake up man

If more successful lawsuits are forthcoming, hopefully none.

Unless they botched the surgery, performing an elective procedure that is legal in that state with proper signed documents authorizing the doctors to do the procedures might be wrong ethically in yours and my minds, but they shouldn't be sued for it.
No, the story specifically says it was about negligence, which is a perfectly legitimate reason to sue for malpractice.
If you do not follow the standard of care when deciding whether a medical course of action is justified, you can be sued, and that's the way it should be.
An analogy would be that a doctor performed cataract surgery without paying attention to contraindications for that surgery that reasonable investigation according to the established standard of care would have revealed. The patient had glaucoma and the doctor didn't check for it before doing the surgery and the patient suffered permanent damage to her optic nerve as a result.
The damage was directly related to not doing a cursory investigation of contraindications.
You'll lose that suit every day of the week. And you should.

What woke leftist pedophile a-hole is on here downvoting posts like this?

Remember the actress that had a double mastectomy because her mother and sisters all had breast cancer so she electively did the procedure so as not to also come down with breast cancer? Should her doctors be sued later because she changed her mind?
If she was not competent to consent and the doctors should have known it based on following the established standard of care, but they failed to follow that established standard of care, yes.
That's what you're not getting. This lawsuit was successful because the doctors didn't follow the correct medical protocol.
Not because the kid later changed her mind.

This is where the responsibility lies but you will get down voted as I was.
And if the therapist and doctors told the parents that their daughter would kill herself if the surgery wasn't done?
I get being upset with the parents, but we need to be practical. Do you want these surgeries to stop? Then lawsuits are the way.
Or would you rather wait around for congress to do nothing?
I really don't get people who are against an action but then demand that there can only be one solution, especially when that solution is not very viable.
Do you care more about stopping a barbaric practice or more about the method used to stop it? When did procedures become more important than results?

Malpractice indeed. Nice.
Posted on 10/6/26 at 11:12 am to TenWheelsForJesus
I assume, since this is an elective surgery, the doctor can refuse to perform said surgery?

Republicans should introduce federal legislation preserving cause of action on behalf of minors who have had these procedures for 10 years, statute of limitations.
Potential defendants parents, guardians doctors, nurses, hospitals, etc. Also, importantly, health insurance companies.
When medical and malpractice coverage runs this shite will stop.
Make dems vote against it.

Which they almost certainly did.

Probably. Maybe. See below.

I disagree with him in this specific instance—if the facts given are accurate, these physicians were liable.
However, I do sympathize with him about lawsuits being a poor solution. Here's why...this lawsuit was successful because not enough due diligence was done. It wasn't successful because the kid regretted it. It was successful because the records didn't show enough due diligence before performing the surgery.
I personally don't trust (in particular) the psychiatric/psychology community to not create a sham "measurement tool" to use to qualify these kids for the surgeries and insulate themselves from lawsuits.
Unless I miss my guess, there's someone out there working on something like that right now. The psychiatric community already does this with "studies" about whether homosexuality is normal/healthy. Everything is designed to produce the result they want, not find out the truth.
So lawsuits may be what we've got right now and I'm glad to see the result of this one (and I think people pouting about the child being awarded money are so fricking stupid I can't believe it), but he's right that we shouldn't rely just on lawsuits.
If a bunch of successful suits hit at once the insurance carriers may just pull the plug on insuring doctors who do this sort of thing, that could happen. And if it does, problem solved.
But it's not guaranteed because of what I posted above. Right now it's a race and this lawsuit was the starter pistol. Can the psychiatric community create the smoke & mirrors it needs to keep the butchering going before the insurance carriers tap out. That's the game right now. At least IMO.

Good.
Transgenderism is mental illness and I guarantee if you address the cause of the mental illness or the disorders with proper therapy or medication then most patients will change their mind about transitioning

I've been told by many liberals that these types of surgeries are not being performed on minors... and this is just MAGA conspiracy theory and "transphobe" paranoia.
