IMO he didn't finish the catch.

In your "opinion", how many steps do you need to take after catching the ball to "finish the catch"??

If that play had happened in the middle of the field would the ball have been ruled a fumble after the catch?? Hmmmmmm............

You need to ask any steps in the end zone. The moment the ball is secured, it’s over.

That’s false. But two feet down, then two steps, ought to do it.

LSU had to go down before the GA game to pop their bubble. Now LSU has less motivation to beat GA. And it still leaves a slight possibility that AL could sneak into the playoffs.

OMG. People like you should be locked up. You are a danger to yourself.

This. I don’t understand why the SEC office couldn’t correct the “going to ground vs upright receiver” ruling when even McElroy knew it.

The flag was thrown, then picked up

That, in and of itself, on subjective judgement call’s always pisses me off (not reversals for some mitigating objective action like when a ball is tipped before a PI or the QB is beyond the LOS when he throws a pass). You, the official, saw something you felt was a penalty necessitating throwing a flag. If on in second thought it wasn’t, then don’t freaking throw the flag in the first place

Not remotely catchable. If it was a decent throw, the penalty would stand.

Jeray was tracking the ball and slowing down, about to go up. If it was a not remotely catchable he would have hit the breaks or not attempted the catch, rather than been in the process of timing his jump.

You are plainly stupid if you really believe that. But you don’t, so you’re just a lying POS.

Yea, we don't win that game, but that's an egregious flag pickup. Who knows, maybe it does change the game?

Yup. Ball caught, 2 feet down with possessing, then 2 more steps taken. Its a catch. Possess to the groun is only when the catch/ ground are in unison. Like a sideline catch, guy taps foot down falling out. Must maintain through the ground. He caught ball, 2 steps in bounds, 2 steps after. It's a catch

And he turned upfield and secured ball in one hand.

Isn’t the Emery offensive holding ‘inside the pads’?

It was totally catchable. Jenkins was not allowed to go up and get it because he had an aTm defender on his back before the ball got there. The ball was only 7' above the ground.

Which is clearly illustrated by the ref ducking to avoid it...

The ball was clearly not catchable. If it was, the call would have stood. I’d bet money the back judge, who didn’t throw the flag, came in and said that the throw was dog poo and the receiver had no shot at catching it. The side judge that threw the flag saw the defender hit the receiver before the ball got there, but he had no idea the throw was so shitty.

i agree, which is why it's stupid for everyone on here to claim it was clearly catchable, and it wasn't clear to the ref that threw the flag.
But you know who it was clear to? the back judge, that didn't throw the flag but obviously saw the defender ride the receiver and still didn't throw a flag. He had the best view on the field on if that ball was remotely catchable.

The only way Jenkins is catching that ball, is if he channels his inner Calvin Johnson, and he didn't come anywhere near trying to do what CJ did on this spectacular catch.

Jayden throw the ball probably worst than this cat from GaTech did. I think he threw it higher. Jaray was never going to catch that ball, or even come close to catching it.

Not that this catch is underrated, but it's underrated one of the best catches of all time b/c it's never talked about.

That's just horrible. Extreme ineptitude or blatant cheating . only 2 possibilities.

He wouldn’t have come within 2 feet of that ball even if not covered.

Refs are awful at all levels. But the melt over this one is just really strange
