It was a back judge that made the call. The Umpire that is in the GIF next to the play did not see it as that was not his area to watch. By the time he turns around, the play was over.

That wasn't his call to make, but I think this was the POS that called the "hold" in the third quarter as the Ref that was behind the LOS and the play (the guy with the best view that also tracks the QB until he passes the LOS) didn't call it.

The SEC is so blatant with their corruption now that it is laughable. Instant replay can't save you anymore because they will now "interpret" rules too. I can only imagine what they "interpreted" here to overrule this obvious Tomfrickery.

You mean the call to overturn? Who threw the flag, then?

My apologies.

The back judge is the one who threw the flag and made the correct call. I have no clue which of the other six corrupt idiots was the one that determined to overturn it.

I went on a tangent about the ref in the GIF being the one that I think called the phantom hold in the third quarter. LOL

Not remotely catchable.
If it was a decent throw, the penalty would stand.

uh, that's not even close to being correct.

PI calls are often waved off due to the ball being deemed uncatchable.

quote:

Defensive pass interference is contact beyond the neutral zone by a Team B player whose intent to impede an eligible opponent is obvious and could prevent the opponent the opportunity of receiving a catchable forward pass. When in question, a legal forward pass is catchable.

not only that, but this wasn't called off due to being uncatchable. If it is, they actually say it.

This was deemed not a penalty at all.

“ LOL at Aggies claiming Jenkins didn't make an attempt at the ball”

Him not trying to catch the ball was actually the first thing I noticed after seeing this again. It still seems to me that it should have been P.I. though.

I so wish that CBK would have LSU media department put together a montage of the DPI called and then with no explanation picked up, the phantom arse holding calls, the TD that wasn’t, etc etc from Saturday night and play it on a loop behind him during his presser.

This is not how you build a tough team mindset. This plays you as the victim. He should be telling the team “Yes, some of those calls sucked and those refs were blind, but we can’t control that. The refs didn’t keep us from setting the edge. The refs didn’t keep us from securing the football. I’ll address the calls with the SEC offices, but we will focus on what we did wrong, not what they did wrong.”

I said to my wife, before the flag got picked up, "If you want to see an example of clear PI, this is it."

Watch where both the DB and Receivers hands reach out to. That ball was thrown behind the receiver by about 3-4'. The ball didn't go over the receivers head - it went where he was 3-4' earlier in his route.

Ok, and it’s still a catchable ball.

This call was more blatant than the Aubie game in 2006.

I’m still blown away that they picked the flag up.

Great job SEC officials!

GIF of pass interference on #10 Jenkins
is it just me, or is that ball 5 feet behind Jenkins and the A&M hit Jenkins when the ball passed by.

So my question is a hypothetical: change the color of the jerseys, and tell me if you think an LSU LB committed pass interference against an A&M WR.

I know the answer, of course.

If he jumped on his back before the ball arrived? Yes, I’d be pissed at our guy and not the officials.

Bottom line is even though we didn’t play well, stick with this call and pick up the phantom hold (they discussed it and I was sure they’d wave it off) I think we pull it out.

.. yes, I’m surprised the SEC front office didn’t put out an apology that the ref wasn’t suppose to throw a flag anytime during the game against the aggies…oops, our bad…
