Garrett Nussmeier Career Stats:

70/126 (55.6%)
5 Touchdowns
5 Interceptions

Nussmeier has had extreme highs and lows already despite having zero starts. He showed a glimpse of how high his ceiling might be when he got a chance to air it out with the 1's in the 2nd half of the SEC Championship game.

Nuss has never been prepared as a starter, so we just don't know. He has great physical tools; does he have it between the ears?

Same TD to INT ratio as Jameis Winston and what did Jameis do?

Win a natty and a Heisman.

Lets Ride.

I am all for Nuss and Howard getting more PT but all of this throwing JD under the bus because of what Nuss did with the game out of reach and most GA defensive starters out of the game is ridiculous. Carter was out the entire 4th qtr and he was in JD's face every pass play in first half. And JD threw for 200 yds in 1st half against the best defense in the country It will work itself out on the field but I'm willing to give JD the chance to show he can step it up next year. If he struggles then Nuss or Howard get their shot. If he goes pro then let Nuss and Howard battle it out. Kelly will figure it out.

Your going to have to have great defenses with a guy like this at quarterback because he’ll turn it over almost every game

I think it’s in his nature to be aggressive but he’s always seemed to play trying to prove himself and that has led him to take chances he shouldn’t. If he can learn to take the shots when the defense gives it because he’s carving them up underneath, he can be off the charts. His arm talent is obviously elite. He just needs to use it more wisely. In reference to the SECCG, he had to take chances, you’re behind almost 30, 5 minute drives won’t cut it. Don’t condone the turnovers though.

I had forgotten he wore 5 as a Freshman. Did he give it up for Jayden?

Kind or reminds me of Winston at the Bucs. He has elite deep ball but needs to learn not to make dangerous throws.

In college JW was 65 TD to 28 Ints career. His worst year was 25/18.

Definitely need to open up the competition. Nuss has talent, but he was playing against a defense set up for short passes. Daniels must throw the ball downfield to stretch the defense out. Much of his regression in the last several games was because the defense only covered short passes, leaving deep passes open.

All of our QB's have skills and any could end up being our best.

If Daniels played like a real QB no one says anything.

He was given the legs by an employee who had no authority to give them away. Like an idiot kid, he accepted them without questioning it.

NFL defenses are a little different. Especially when your best WR option is Marquez Callaway.
