As a program overall. 1 being the lowest and in need of a total overhaul and 10 being absolute elite and just needs to keep firing on all cylinders.
Then add on which way you feel the program is trending. Up. Down. Or Holding steady.

I feel we are about a 7 and trending down.

I don’t like our trend vs Ark, State, Vandy or even Florida.

I think a 7 but not trending down. More like maintaining at a 7. Nobody is scared of the box. Especially instate schools when 1000 or 2 tops shows up. With talent levels evening out LSU doesn’t have the home field edge they once had. This isn’t on the fans. It’s corporate and pricing to some degree. Overall, LSU can get to Omaha

10 would be winning the CWS or in the finals
9 would be getting to the CWS
8 would be hosting a super regional
7.5 would be getting swept in the super regional

Your about right on

Facility and fans are a 10 in the college world with only a few schools coming close. LSU has all the advantages in College baseball, but play has only been about top 20, so recruiting and player development is the only thing keeping it from being at the top, so 7 and trending down are about right...

Too much inconsistency. Players don’t seem to get any better from year to year.

Lots of mistakes on the base paths, like last year in Corvallis.

This is little league stuff.

Like the football team under Miles I feel like we make lots of little mistakes. Our attention to detail is shitty. We rely on talent. If we had talent and were developed better we would be a nightmare to face.

Watching Arky beat OM by 13 runs in their super as they go to their 2nd straight CWS reminds me of what watching LSU baseball used to feel like.

Now we worry about things like forgetting to touch 2nd or getting picked off at 3rd.

I'd go 7.5 based on pre season expectations and achieving but not winning a SR. But as Skip has noted recently, he never had a conference schedule where one division had 3 teams qualify for Omaha and another conference foe going as well, for a total of 4 teams from the SEC qualifying for the CWS. 6 - 8 teams in the top 15. The level of league competition is off the charts.
