The guy that died was walking around after the accident. He died at the scene but wasn’t in his vehicle.
That changes the story a good bit

Yeah it makes it seem like he shot himself then took the car, wrecked it, then ran, then died. As least that’s what I took away from it.
He shot a round (most likely in the air) while arguing with his sister. He then stole her charger. Someone called the police and they found him driving on Aldine Westfield. The police started to flolliw him and he sped away. He then shot himself while fleeing and crashed into a building by Lexington Woods. He was dead on the scene.

May the Lord forgive and bless young brother Kyren Lacy! My condolences go out to his family, and may he R.I.P.! It is a very sad thing to hear because he had so much talent to make up for this terrible tragedy. He had the talent to be drafted in the first round, and he could have used that money to start a platform pertaining to this terrible tragedy. He could have helped people, I just wish his family or anybody would have told him this instead of letting this happen. It's a very sad thing to hear about and have happen. God bless!

flawed. I get it but he allegedly killed a man and drove away.

He didn’t directly kill anyone and drive away

Sorry to hear this. Prayers to his family. We all make mistakes. RIP KL

This is a sad day for all Tiger fans. I loved watching this kid play football.
He gave every fan the gift of watching his talent grow. If he made a mistake (and I do not know the facts) we should all reevaluate our youth and think we could be there but for the grace of God. Mistakes happen. Hopefully, his family will find answers and be supported by every Tiger fan as they deal with this tragedy. Deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Did he smoke and kill a guy and flee the scene hoping to get away with it? Yes.
You know the answer to that question is actually no right?

This is a tough one. He needed some grace, we all do.

This is true. We all do.
However, you can give it all you want but if it's not received grace has no value. Pride tends to get in the way.

His actions caused the death of another. And he didn’t report it.

Who are the serial downvoters in this thread? It’s like you say so sad and prayers to his family and downvotes reign in. What’s wrong with some of you? Is it the mention of God?

quote:of course, but I don't classify reckless driving and fleeing the scene as a "mistake." A mistake is something more accidental, like hitting the gas instead of the brakes.
We all make mistakes
Assuming the facts we've all heard (and yes, I acknowledge that these facts may not be entirely accurate), his actions weren't "mistakes."
They were reckless, conscious decisions. Big difference.
All that said, I of course offer my condolences to his family, in addition to the car crash victim's family.

He chose to drive foolishly and recklessly having no regard for other people’s safety and lives. His choice to drive recklessly caused an accident that killed a man.
He, then, chose to drive around the accident and flee instead of seeing if anyone was hurt. He fled away instead of calling 911. He fled to escape any repercussions or consequences of his reckless actions.

Exactly. Look, I’m not going to wish ill will on anybody but the people defending Lacy’s actions that day are pathetic.
I grew up around that area just like him. Had he waited literally 1 more minute, that road turns into a double lane highway where he could’ve easily passed up the other car(s). And I know damn well that Lacey knew that too. His actions were 100% reckless and preventable.

Did the dude pull a 180?
If no then how could he cause someone in front of him to swerve lanes? Also if it was the oncoming lane why would he swerve into other traffic rather than the shoulder/off the road? Why not hit the brakes?
The story placing all blame on him whenever his car didn’t touch another car never really made sense.

Wow. He must have really been messed up at the time, mentally. I'm glad no one else was physically injured due to his actions. His poor sister and family.
