My point is that just because someone contributed to LSU in scoring touchdowns doesn't mean we can just look the other way when they do horrendous things as individuals.
He made a stupid mistake, kids do that shite all the time. I am a grown arse man and make mistakes all the time.
He has not been charged with any crime

No matter what Lacy's lawyer says Grand Jury's have a 95% indictment rate. There is all prosecution people there and nothing for the defense. So they allegedly found other charges. I no longer believe in our Grand Jury system pbased on its prosecution biased

For me at least, it was an absolutely overpowering mental and even physiological experience. It was a crushing feeling, like the walls are closing in, there is no hope, and there is no other way out.
To say someone is selfish for committing suicide is essentially saying they don’t care about the people that love them. This is untrue. It’s not so simple. No. It’s saying that they care more about their wants and needs than the people that love them.
Your mind can play tricks on you. I am a very logical and rational person, but those episodes would completely overwhelm rational thought. Luckily, I had the awareness to step outside of it and focus on my faith and family to work past the occurrences. It was almost like being in a nightmare but then you realize it while you are dreaming. You can’t change it at the time but have the awareness to navigate it. Everyone’s situation is different, but I wanted to add mine for context.

What? You did not do dumb shite when you were that age? Am I saying he should get away Scott free, no I am not. But folks judging this dude one mistake is a bit ridiculous, no?

Man you made a ton of assumptions based off one statement. I am not OK with his actions, more than likely he was not either.
I am simply saying, judging a dude off one instance is a bit ridiculous.
That’s all.

You can never judge a man til you walk in his shoes.

don’t know if that’s real but if so he was just as reckless committing suicide as he was for what he was charged with, could have taken another innocent life

Prayers to his family and friends, hard to imagine what he’s faced in his life at just 24 years old… most would never be faced with a life altering court hearing like this at a young age. It Really seemed like things were starting to look up for him. At the end of the day you’re looking at the loss someone’s child. Hope his family receives the help they need

That’s hard to follow.
Yeah it makes it seem like he shot himself then took the car, wrecked it, then ran, then died. As least that’s what I took away from it.

because most people would practice self discipline and restraint

I feel so bad for Kyren’s sister probably trying to talk him out of it and nothing she can do about it.

The thought process of some of the posters here is mind boggling. As if he was an innocent bystander who was in the wrong place at the wrong time

Who cares if he hasn't been charged with a crime. That's so black and white thinking. Did he smoke and kill a guy and flee the scene hoping to get away with it? Yes. If you're cool with that just because charges haven't been filed then you're a weirdo
He didn’t hit anyone. The guy that died was walking around after the accident. He died at the scene but wasn’t in his vehicle. The family chose not to have an autopsy so it won’t be known what caused his death. This is why no charges have been filed by the District Attorney.

This is all around a tragic situation for all involved from beginning to end. Really is a shame.

Absolutely this, roughly 3 years I attempted to kill myself. Nothing could overpower the control those thoughts had on me. Nothing, not my wife, kids. It’s a dark and desperate hole with what seems like no way out.
I feel for Lacy, I feel bad that he found himself in the hole. It’s a sad day for everyone involved.
Lastly kudos on surviving and continuing to fight

Kenny Lacey posted this:
Young parents, start talking to your kids at a very early age and make sure they are confident and comfortable confiding in you. Don't be cool with "I'm Alright,or I'm good" when you know deep down something isn't right. Mental Health is real, and for the most part, it's invisible, don't ignore the signs, even if they may seem small.
Our lives have changed forever and this will never be ok, but God needed my baby more than he was needed here. This has to be the biggest pill our families have had to swallow but I know the love and compassion in our families will get us through. This will never get easier, but we'll learn to live with it.
Check on your kids mental!!!!!!!!!
