For people who have been to Omaha, what else is there to do?

Thinking of booking a trip this year for whole family just in case. I know they have a nice zoo? If doing 3 full days just wondering what else there is to do for family with kids besides games, bc will likely be 1 or 2 days with no LSU baseball depending on if we get Friday/Sunday or Saturday/Monday games. Thanks in advance.

I did not bring our kids, but we did go to the zoo, it was extremely nice and fairly big. You can Easily spend a day out there with kids.
The old rosenblatt stadium, idk how much the kids will like this, but it was nostalgic. If you do this, there is an old house right by the stadium (I looked on google and I think it’s called stadium view, reviews are bad bc he’s inconsistent with his hours, but if you go during the cws and lsu is there, he will be open. it’s a sports memorabilia store. You have to go to that, it’s an older guy, gives you free beer just to go in and look, he loves lsu fans. He has an insane amount of old sports stuff, it’s awesome, spent like $100 and came back with some cool lsu magazines, posters etc.

We stayed at The Casino in Council Bluffs. That was a good time.

The Old Market is an historic neighborhood located in downtown, with lots of restaurants and shops. Very walkable.
Jackson St. Booksellers is there. Enormous used book store with seemingly every book every written, organized well to make it easy to find your interests. There was also an impressive comics/collectibles store; not my thing but they had every action figure, toy, etc. you could imagine.
The parks along the Missouri River downtown are very nice. Skate ribbon, amphitheater, bocce courts, etc. Omaha Riverfront info

Brought my 7 YO son in ‘23.
Zoo is huge and awesome. Could spend a full day there.
Union Pacific has a great museum there. Both my son and I really enjoyed it. Lots of old cars and stuff you can walk through.
Also brought him to the children’s museum one morning. Like any children’s museum in any city but good.
Also just kind of walk around downtown and the stadium. Downtown is walkable there’s tons of stuff going on there and around th stadium while the tourney is going on.
It’s a ln awesome family trip. Y’all will have a great time.

One thing my kids remember about Omaha was we walked over the Missouri River on the pedestrian bridge that spans the river from Omaha to Council Bluffs, Iowa.
The Omaha landing of the bridge is downtown and is within easy walking distance of the CWS stadium. On the Iowa side is a river's edge park.
It's a 3,000 foot bridge and is a "Remember when we did that" type of thing.

The newer museum by the river walk and the zoo are your best bets. Outside of that, its baseball. Go to the non lsu games

Zoo is one of the best in the country, old rosenblatt is in the parking lot so you can do those both at the same time. The city park downtown is awesome with lots of stuff for kids to do and food trucks to grab a quick lunch. My kids spent hours in the arcade and pinball place in the old market it was really cool. Great restaurants in the old market and you can always take your kids into Rocco’s and buy them jello shots!

Few good places to eat. Fan experience around the stadium. Went to every game while we were there. Wasn’t a whole lot of down time once all that is factored in.

I took my son to the zoo and to US AirForce SAC museum. There is a bad arse classic car museum in Lincoln called the American automobile experience.

Forgot we had done this too beautiful day and it was a nice walk. Kinda cool to set foot in Iowa for a minute too.

Going to the other games in the opening round are fun. Get in price is always much cheaper when LSU isn't playing.

There’s a lot full of activities/games next to TD Ameritrade we stayed at for a few hours when we went in ‘23. My 6 year old stayed busy.
Also, the Omaha Zoo and old Rosenblatt. Bring some wiffle balls and a bat to take some swings from home plate of Rosenblatt.
Watching the team load the bus at the team hotel is a cool experience too.

Not sure you have time and people here have mentioned many wonderful ideas. But Badlands national park is a days drive away in South Dakota.

The Henry Dorley zoo is top notch - with or without kids. There is also a Union Pacific train museum that I have heard good things about. Not far from Omaha is the SAC museum (just west of Omaha a bit) and it is an awesome experience if you have any interest in aircraft.
