Consensus is not the standard. The Rantards are not hiring the coach. We just give our opinions because we are Rantards. It’s not rocket science. It’s ranting.

I wish O would get/have gotten his head out of his arse so we wouldn't have to go get a new coach but doesn't look to promising

I will never understand people who say kiffin. He’s only failed at every stop as a HC.

Who would you pick? I’ve seen a few great prospects come up just to get bashed. Not a single one is good enough for some of you.
Yep. And just like other posters stated- none of them are perfect. The experienced guy is a re-tread or got blown out one time in the early 2000's or some shite. The non-old fart is too inexperienced.

Frankly, the search should center around what needs to be fixed or changed and prioritized on that.

Do you need a culture change and is that culture change focused on motivation or organizational skills or discipline? Will that require the program to be rebuilt in a new image to effect real change? The go get a guy who's done that before.

Is it simply an staff vs. X&Os problem that needs to be fixed? Then go get that guy.

The problem, going back to the initial OP, is that there's only one guy that checks all the boxes, and he ain't coming [back]. So we need to hire the guy that fixes the biggest/significant issues and then rely on the rest of the staff, including admin, for the other issues.

That's is as good as it gets.

Step 1 is to identify the root/biggest issue. Go from there. If you don't fix THAT one issue, the others won't matter. You can't treat symptoms here. There is no magic pill/bullet.

BOB is my first choice. Took a program from the dead at Penn St and made them respectable. I bet he has learned some new things under Saban too.

That’s bullshite

He took a sanctioned program that was 9-4 the year before and made them mediocre instead of terrible. Anyone saying otherwise is drinking the happy valley Koop aid from that BS documentary.

FWIW, Kiffin did the same thing with a better record the first two years at USC.

PSU was 9-3 the season before BOB took over. Yes, there were sanctions and defections following that season, but BOB went 8-4 and 7-5

I mean just because he lost players, didn’t have as many scholarships available to replace the ones that left not to mention the school brand was toxic no excuse for not going undefeated right?

Not everyone will agree, and half the fan base will be pissed.

Just the way it goes around here.

Under the circumstances why is that a negative? They did lose players and 9-4 isn’t exactly the loaded deck say Coker or Miles took over at Miami and LSU.

What a bunch of horse shite. Where did we get to the point that no one can simply have a different opinion? Interpret that data differently from you? No act like YOU ARE RIGHT and there is no possible different view, it’s fricking beyond narcissistic.

Just FTR as a long time Houston resident I’ve seen enough of BOB, he is actually a pretty good coach but one of the worst GMs I’ve ever seen, hes also an abrasive a-hole, I would rather we look elsewhere.

Yeah well that’s why the people saying he’s “failed” everywhere are missing the bigger picture. I’d be good with the Lane Train

BOB could be LSU's hire depending on how nervous they are on investigations and how many coaches tell LSU no. I think he's way more realistic than people realize mainly due to how he handled a sanctioned program in the past.

It's going to be a very smart offensive coach.

Not a huge bob fan but wasn't he only the de facto gm for 8 months.

Think he won the divison 4 out of 5 years.

Anyone who trades deandre hopkins for peanuts is dumb.
