If we are going after O for banging co-eds and just doing stupid shite. Then kiffin is not the guy. Let's not get a quirky, goofy guy this time. Let's get a professional coach, who is intelligent, and moves with a purpose. But, like someone said earlier. It really doesn't matter, after the first lose. Half the fan base will want to execute the guy.

Of the potential REALISTIC candidates, I would choose Kiffin.

This is where I would probably slide to as well. My concern is all the outlier coaches that did well somewhere else will come in and figure they are smarter than eveyone else and bring a different model of offense in here and it will get stomped in the big games. Alabama, LSU, Clemson, tOSU, and I will throw in OU run similar models and obviously some better that others. In the SEC to be elite you have to score a lot of points and the only one on the lists that keep popping up that fits this bill is Kiffin.

You don't want someone who will only win 9 games at most and then in 5 years you'll be begging for whomever is governor to fire him.

Aranda does not have the body of work

With Fickell, Kiffin and Fisher you keep thinking they will jump ship where they are
The only one worth a damn is Fickell and he is not going to leave Cincinnati after they were invited to play in a P5 conference.

Kiffin...you saw his ego at play against Bama....now watch him do it again.

Outside of Saban there would not be a "consensus".

Saban’s too old. Do not want.

Fleck-inexperienced/flash in the pan

8 years as a D1 coach is "inexperienced"?

Taking two century long dumpster fires and made them more successful than they've ever been is a "flash in the pan"?

Did you guys ever learn to...think?

Seems to me over the last decade or so that all the coaches with a high quality body of work haven't done a damn thing when they were hired. I think the most recent big name hires were Jimbo and Herman, and they haven't lit the world on fire. In fact, other than Urban Meyers at Ohio, I don't think I can name one that did something significant.
