I let my 4 go after 20+ years. Sent email saying Alleva is a douche and Ed wasn’t a good choice. I’m sure there are 2000 people behind me waiting to get the tickets, but I’m done

Yeah I gave up my season tickets because I won't get back that 150 dollars this year...

bingo. other schools are selling out still.

Nebraska had like 86,000 at the scrimmage and they haven't won the BIG 12 since 2009. So yeah - I doubt the lack of tax deduction is the issue.

100% incorrect. Donations to TAF, the 501c3, are still deductible, charitable contributions.

Payments to the LSU Athletic Department or TAF for tradition fund or required suite/club fees are no longer deductible.

Let mine go after 20 years also. Had 8 then 4. Now done. LSU was also informed that alleva and O were the issues and why we were not renewing.

Well however you want to put it. A whole bunch of universities are losing money and it specifically says donations.

I gave up my tickets this year. Had them since 2000 season. It was a good run. Now I can just watch from home.

While this is true, with the increase in the standard deduction, less people will see any tax benefit from charitable donations.

I made my donations in December. 2019 will see a bigger decline.

TAF fees were due Mar 31 but ticket fees are due May 31.

I haven’t either but it’s there if you log in to your account.

ETA: Maybe not. I thought I noticed it a couple days ago but can’t find it now.

Demand is way down based on all indicators. The relatives and paid employees of Eaux who post here will continue to assert that all is fine, however. There is no slowdown in sales and there's more excitement around the program than ever. Their heads firmly lodged up their collective asses as usual.

So if you owe TAF fees on your tickets and have to pay those fees by March 31st this would apply for all but section of east upper deck so renewals are pretty much March 31st.

Why would anyone pay hundreds of dollars in ticket fees and then cancel the tickets those fees were associated with?

It's a very difficult situation when you're advised by the experts that the head coach isn't responsible for the team's record, recruiting, or staff hires. Makes hard to justify spending money on something that's left to random chance. I'm not much of a gambler. I'd rather have confidence in getting an enjoyable ROI.

How many tickets in TS do not require TAF fees? One area of the East upperdeck.

For the rest of the stadium if you are going to cancel your season tickets you did so already because you were not going to pay LSU hundreds of dollars by the March 31 deadline just to cancel 2 months later.

Those that do that would be very very few.

My notice states to notify Jamie Graham if I do not plan to renew TAF seating or Parking in my March 31st deadline letter.

I don’t know anyone not buying season tickets or not renewing because of a little tax break. It comes down for most families to entertainment $$$. LSU football is entertainment and if it isn’t entertaining people are going to spend that $$$ elsewhere. I have 4 season tickets to football + parking pass, 2 season basketball, 2 season baseball + PP. I am going to reevaluate my tickets for football after this season.

Not 100% correct.

"But now, the 2018 basic standard deduction will be $24,000 for joint filers, $12,000 for single filers and $18,000 for heads of household."

If you contribute more than these amounts in one year to charitable organizations, you will get the deduction. The tax changes basically doubled the amount of the standard deduction for 2018.

Most contributors to TAF took advantage of paying their 2018 commitment by the end of 2017. TThat will alter the numbers slightly. The tell tale numbers will be more accurate next year - right around March 31.

With the issues of parking, traffic and crowds, along with how watching games on TV is a pleasure, ALL schools are in trouble.
