Post less. This is a stupid question.

I want to see the future with this team. Lots of new players do they may struggle but I want to see potential
2026 team had no potential.

Yes, it certainly appears Johnson is bringing in the type of players he needs to turn things around next season in a big way.
I am glad football season starts soon, so we can hopefully see fewer of these kind of threads.

I swear some of you are just itching to try someone new.
You are misreading them. It is a hypothetical, and of course the answer is yes. CJJ’s seat would warm up with a shitty season this year. But what are the odds of a shitty season? He is loaded this season.
He probably needs one of his freshmen leftys to have a good season. Other than that, it’s hard to see weaknesses in this team.
I would say that the biggest likelihood of a disgruntled fanbase would be if the team is near the SEC lead but has an unexpected exit in the regional or supers. But that isn’t the sort of thing that gets CJJ’s seat hot unless he does it about three seasons in a row.

Arizona was the 1st team eliminated in 2021. How is that within one out of the NC?

Well I guess it’s a good thing that we’re all Tigers.

Even if the Tigers don't field a good team this year, the Man has won 2 of the last 4 NCs. He won't be on the hot seat anytime soon.

If he somehow misses the tournament again in 2027 he should be fired. People will think that’s crazy but you can’t miss the tournament two years in a row at LSU
That said there’s no way that happens with the talent coming in and I expect to have a very nice bounce back season with a deep post season run

Oh yay! This dumb thread again.

He would have to have 2 more seasons in a row like last year to really start to move the needle to the point he needs to Coach for his job.
If he goes 3 seasons in a row without making the postseason he will be sent out of BR in absolute fury of fire, it won’t just simply “start to move the needle”
Missing 3 straight postseasons at LSU baseball would be the worst coaching performance in LSU history IMHO.

Why don’t you like Jay, pridey? Weren’t you on his arse in 2025 then he won a chip?
Posted on 8/4/26 at 12:39 pm to riseabovethenoise
This is LSU and we care more about college baseball than anywhere else and it really isn't particularly close honestly. So yes. Might not most places but here it absolutely would.
There were many including me rationalizing last year. That number would drop of dramatically should the same thing happen this year.
I don't expect it will....just for the record.

What did I say that has anything to do with not liking Jay?
Another poster set the hypothetical, not me
His hypothetical, not mine, was Jay going 3 straight seasons not making the postseason. How would you rate that Lester?

Why didn’t you answer my question pridey?

I was not on Jays arse in 2025

Luckily your opinion is just that an opinion not a fact and has no relevance to what will or will not happen to Jay.

Y’all need to stop responding to these alters.

At this point Jay is as safe as any coach in any sport in any league in the world. Baseball is hard, evaluating talent is hard. He has only won 2 of the last 4 and played for a 3rd. Id think it would take a minimum of 2 more seasons like last year before his seat got warm.
