I'm good with that. Coach O is one of us and he can compete with anyone in recruiting. As long as he has good assistants and lets them do their job....frick the rest of the country.

One of who? He coaches kids from from all of the country, not "us". Get a clue #SLEAUX #TIGERS

For the love of God. Read the entire article. He makes a series of predictions. Herman to Texas. Jimbo to stay at FSU. LSU to hire O. Then in support of that prediction, he specifically states that hiring O was Alleva's preference all along, citing unnamed insiders. No one is glossing over anything.

Many LSU insiders say this is what athletics director Joe Alleva has wanted to do since the day he fired former coach Les Miles.

I'm sure he has. O is the easiest and cheapest option.

To be fair, he did write an article in the preseason saying Miles would be fired before the year ends..

I didn't see Schlabach say that, but Ryan McGee definitely did. McGee also predicted we would hire Herman.

And to use "was paid" as if was entitled to receive a lump sum rather than amortize the amount. The article has no credibility on that alone.
his buyout is stretched over the next 6 and a half years. this guy also doesnt seem to get that all of it is private money, and whether or not LSU is actually "cash strapped" will have no bearing whatsoever.

irrelevant in today's college football.

Go get the best coach we can get, regardless of whether he has a cool accent.

ive never seen anyone anywhere suggest anything close to this, and in fact we've seen and heard the opposite. this is a purely made-up statement.

This article shows why journalism is at its lowest. Money does not come from university. Taf is not cash strapped. Lsu pays miles over 6 yrs. Might end up paying nothing if he takes another job. So many wrong statements in one paragraph

For a while I thought we were going to lose Tom Herman to LSU. Thankfully Joe Alleva is a complete tard.

Is Coach O the only one capable of such an impact?

I wouldn't hate it if we kept O on with Aranda..we really have great assistants throughout our program, I think we would be fine letting them do their job and letting CEO be the CEO

To be fair, even though the salary of the new HC is private money, it can still be spun into a PR issue for the entire university. Ultimately the board of directors will have a say so in the decision, even if it is just a rubber stamp. Negative PR can make that process more burdensome.

I wouldn't pass up on Chip Kelly if he became interested, but if CEO could keep Aranda and get Kiffen, I'd listen.
