Duke committed two violations on game winning play
Sorry, not with you here.
The inbounds was chaotic but the person who caught the ball and her defender were both in position to catch and to defend. LSU did a good job taking away any hope of a short jumper, forcing what was essentially a three point hail mary. Flauje committed on the first move, which turned out to be premature, but the shooter still had to take an off balance contested three for the game winner. It was not a pretty shot.
Sometimes the ball falls in around the rim and sometimes it falls out. The entire play was quick. There is no credible way to brake it down frame by frame.
I am super proud of the way the team battled back to be in a position to win. That loss was tough.

Basketball in the women’s game is pretty bad

“Can’t think of anything I care less about than women’s basketball.”
And yet here you are on a Sunday afternoon talking about that very thing.

Softest rims I've noticed in a basketball game. Pretty much everything that hit the rim bounced in.

The last shpt actually hung up on the front rim after two spins prior to dropping through.

If LSU had got past Duke, this UCLA team would have been a good matchup for LSU. This is a very beatable UCLA team that will probably lose to Duke.

I watched a very competitive game until about 9 minute mark on the 2nd half. The game was tied I think and for the next 2-3 minutes, Duke received every call that was made and built about a 10-12 pt lead. I couldn't help but notice a change in the officiating, especially by the ref you mentioned. Every shot Duke put up whether made or not got a foul call. I couldn't see some of them. Every drive by LSU received some serious contact, and not once in that time period was Duke called for foul.
I turned the game off at that point, expecting a 15 pt loss if the officiating remained that way to the end.
I was surprised to see replays later than LSU was actually leading with 2.7 seconds to play. I thought the same on non walking call, but those refs weren't sophisticated enough to call that, as they couldn't count to 3 on the Duke bigs, especially the blonde girl, camping out in the lane for 5-6 seconds at a time....and yes I counted the seconds.
All in all, Duke was just too big in the paint for LSU to handle. LSU has to change that if LSU has sights on an future titles. Every team left is very big. LSU has to shoot fantastice to overcome that size issue, and our best shooters had an off game. It happens.

FJ left her feet, never leave your feet in that situation
the Duke player could have easily drifted up into FJ and got a foul called, three FTs to make two for the win
just really poor defense by FJ and the shooter pulled one out of her arse

I really can’t for the life of me imagine getting this worked up over WBB.

If Flauje struck her hand as she shot and missed would it be OK not to call it because its the end of the game? If it happens you call it. Just ask Gus Rudolph.
If Duke and LSU were reversed, would you believe those calls should be made AGAINST us???
Please provide an honest answer.

I don’t think he was involving race except pointing out the official was black. Because errybody knows black people hate Duke.

If the violation occurred the calls should be made against either team. If LSU got away with no call I wouldn't suggest they forfeit thje win , any more than Duke did. It still doesn't change the fact there was an illegal screen and travleing on one play. If its a violation in the first quarter its also a violation on the game ending play.

I can't for the life of me imagine jumping into a thread concerning a subject I cared nothing about for the sole purpose of mocking the person who started the subject. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to label you a fricking a-hole.

Thanks for breaking down the sequence of that final play.

First, right call or not Duke deserved to win that game, we got out played and out coached .
Second, illegal screens, holds and minor violations are never gonna be called at the end of the game, kinda like a Hail Mary in football, pass ineference ain’t being called. So as a player you have to know and expect this,
Last, this is what happens when ya leave your feet on every three duke shoots. I’d bet if she ran at her hands up that shot doesn’t go in, but we jumped at every shot from first quarter to the 4th and in the end, us not being disciplined enough got us.

How can you say that when after 39 minutes and 57 seconds LSU had the lead other than you view only the negative plays the Tigers had. Would you still say the same thing if the last shot had missed? Or would you thens ay Duke got outplayed and out coached?
Those were not minor violations. Maybe the illegal screen got caught up in the mesh, but the shuffling of the feet and change of pivot foot was clear and out in the open and the kind of " minor " violation often called during the flow of the game and it should be called at the end.
