Many sports analysts will be campaigning for teams, but only the view of the playoff committee matters.

I think we root for Ole Miss to beat Bama. It weakens Tennessee, strengthens LSU.

We’re at 7 - need to jump 3 teams We’ll jump Tennessee by winning out We will jump the loser of Mich/OSU Need TCU to lose and/or PAC 12 champ to have 2 losses.
I don’t think that’s how it would play out. The default would be the top 4 conference champions, then they would evaluate the non-champs one-by-one to determine if they are clearly better. Georgia would be first in line. Are they really going to displace the LSU team who just defeated them or the Oregon team they beat 49-10?

And Im so tired of hearing “no 2 loss team has ever made it” bro the CFP hasn’t even existed for 10 years yet. There will be firsts
Very true. Sooner or later there will be a wacky season like 2007 and it’ll happen.
How ironic would it be if LSU, 1 of only 2 teams to ever win a NC with 2 losses (and the only one in the modern era), is also the first 2-loss team to make the CFP?
A man can dream!

The entire point of the CFP committee is to add context and not just rely on a computer formula to get it right. That system favors LSU.

I don't think we would at all jump Tennessee. We would have lost to them and have 1 more loss.
LSU and Tenn would both have 11 wins. Tenn would haveno hardware. LSU would have the division amd the SEC Conference championship. LSU would be ranked over Tenn...

Need to worry about an undefeated BIG 12 champion in TCU and a 1 loss PAC 12 champion in Oregon.
LSU wouldn't have to jump TCU to get in.
LSU would have just beaten the team that beat Oregon by 46 points.
But, I do agree that best scenario is for one of TCU or the PAC 12 champ to drop a game. Like USC winning the PAC 12 but losing to Notre Dame.

Let's slow down......we haven't even won the West, yet.....as for beating Georgia, that appears to be a tall order....

There’s precedent though. Ohio St went In 2016 over 2 loss B1G champ Penn St and PSU beat tOSU

quote:This is exactly why a 2 Loss LSU would/should get the nod over a 1 Loss UT, even though UT beat the brakes off LSU (at TS too).
I think conference champion will be our trump card…
The CFP committee has claimed & been consistent with putting a LOT of weight into a team winning its Conference Championship.
