You watch much MLB?

Yes. The game polices itself, but doesn’t stop people from having swag. Watch when they hit one 450’ on a hanging slider and then think about what you just said. Pitchers know when they make a mistake. Hitters know when they capitalized. If the next guy earns one in the back, he gets it, but hey buddy look at the scoreboard. Now we are swimming in your dome like the UT catcher is everyone on this board.

Well said w the last piece. Let guys start wearing it when Bear Jone pimps one like he did when he hit it 3 miles. We love that but crap on anything else.

Today was a great baseball game.

There’s being confident and there’s going out of your way to be dickheads at all times. It’s not the end of the world, but everyone knows they take it to the extreme. It’s been the same stupid shite for four years.

The ump should have told their catcher to shut his fricking mouth or he would toss him. Most umps don’t take kindly to catchers waiving their arms after calls they don’t like or pitchers stomping around and walking off the mound like one of theirs did a couple of games ago.

All of that said, UT didn’t pull any of their typical antics besides the catcher complaining today. They were doing all of that shite vs Vandy, but it looked like they have a little more respect for us.

Yea because lsu players have never done stuff like that.

It goes beyond celebrating after homers and big hits. Our pitchers and catchers don’t do any of that bullshite UT pulls constantly and Johnson would let them have it if they did.

Most umpires do not like being shown up. Thats the difference. The catcher wasn’t showing the umpire up. He was celebrating a play. If he’s not swearing excessively or crossing the line towards the other team, he’s not going to say anything. They never do. It’s the game of baseball.

Again, lots of softies on here that do not understand the game.

I’m not a Tony V, nor UTenn fan. Could not stand watching them the last several years. This was a good baseball game. They were rather tame, honestly. Everyone still living on years past. They outplayed us this time. Get over it guys. We had a great run in the tournament and have lots of baseball left to play. Hopefully we get another shot at them on the way through.

Throwing at Braswell’s head in the prior inning when he squared to bunt (that nobody mentioned because nobody gets it)

nobody mentioned it because it wasn’t at his head.
it was high and tight which is not uncommon when someone is bunting in a pressure spot.

but it wasn’t even close to being “at him”

Serious question…

When we hit a home run and watch it until it is over the fence, flip our bat, and cross home plate with everyone out of the dugout to just all cross our arms and yell like banshees, do you not see that as the same thing? If you are not capable of seeing that, you’re simply choosing not to.

It’s like being the kid that is constantly instigating then one day someone punches them in the mouth and they go tattle to the principal.

Which is funny bc if Jay suddenly retired tomorrow we could get Vitello on the first plane to BR and 90% of our fan base would be ecstatic about it

It's OK to be an a-hole as long as you are OUR a-hole

Honestly, though, it seems Vitello has mellowed at least a little based on his post-game presser. He was very complimentary of LSU after the game.

He always has been complimentary of LSU.

People here are a very warped view on him. There is a lot of cognitive dissonance. They'll bitch about the umpires and what happened on Saturday, but then call Vitello a thug for (barely) bumping into one.

They are living off of their douche reputation from 22’ I believe it was. Vitello had a bad moment against bama I think it was, but generally they aren’t any worse than we are this season. But it takes more time to lose a reputation than it does to gain it if it’s bad.

I was surprised at how often their batters "jaw" with the umpire. After almost every "K" have seen them play.

His celebration after the throw to first is not what I’m talking about. He waived his glove after every ball call he didn’t like. One of their pitchers during the Vandy game the previous day was stomping all over the mound when he didn’t get calls to the point that the announcers said he was acting a fool. They do it a lot and they usually get a free pass for it.

I watched about 5 minutes of UTenn's post game. There were three players with him and they all spoke highly of LSU.

Vitello should have been suspended for the ump bump a couple of years back. But other than that I have no are to grind with him.

He hasn't won a natty yet but he's built a really good and consistent program there.
