Of course you don’t use a MLB zone, expand it to an agreed upon size and it’s set. Everyone understands the expectations and nobody is surprised by some BS from ump to ump
The strike zone is the same in MLB and College, difference is how the umpires calls it. There is no agreeded up size, its in the rule book.

And changing 150 years of baseball history
This is what happens when bandwagoners try to act like they know baseball

Can you explain to me why they can't?

I would limit the hitter talking to the 3rd base coach to 10 seconds. There really is nothing to say besides watch out for the curve / slider.

Change the rules/zone with the new AI zone. Don’t act like rules haven’t changed since the game was invented.

Not necessary. The umpires mechanics cover how it is handled
Also every team has umpires come visit in the offseason to explain new rules and how points of emphasis will be handled during the upcoming season
The play Monday night was blatant and that call is correct 100/100 times. It was so blatant that the umpires couldn’t use the advantage/disadvantage philosophy to avoid making the call

Okay, take a look at the first base line. The line on the right before the bag is the “out of play” line. You step out of that to avoid a tag and you’re automatically out.
The quickest way from point A to B is a straight line. A right handed batter will naturally be running inside the foul line in fair territory when they leave the batter’s box. I played baseball from T-ball through high school and I can’t ever remember even looking down at the foul line to first base to see if I was in bounds. You’re looking at the bag and trying to get to it as fast as possible. It’s totally unreasonable to ask a right handed batter trying to beat out an infield single to adjust his path slightly to the right just before the bag to be in foul territory, and then touch the bag in fair territory. How are you supposed to touch the bag with your right foot in that situation?
"Out of play line"??? "In bounds"??? Dude, your post has discredited your opinion on this subject.

But I think a runner should be able to run in a straight line to the base without it being a violation. They should expand the running lane to include the base.

First-gen tech, it can be tweaked and improved and made much more accurate than Angel Hernadez on his best day.

How can anyone argue against an accurate/consistent zone is beyond me?
If it could be done accurately and consistently I think a lot of people would be all for it... but the technology isn't there yet. the vertical strike zone varies... because some batters are tall and some are short, their natural stances change so the tops and bottoms of the zone change per batter, and where they stand in the box...front or back changes the perception of their zone based on where the AI camera is located. The struggle to calibrate it to every single player is a huge hurdle. Look at one of my other posts and watch the video of it being used... it is far from perfect and far from accurate.

I don’t mind the runner’s lane rule, I just think there should be a point, 10 or so feet before the bag, where you are allowed to cross the foul line
That really defeats most of the purpose. It's not only to give a lane for throwing...it's to prevent collisions between 1B and the runner.
The play in the championship was a decent example where Tre Morgan flinched and didn't stretch toward where the ball was coming from because there would have been a collision.
I'm not justifying the rule. I'm just pointing out it's similar to the slide directly into 2B rule and the no contact with catcher rule. It's for safety.

It was a dead ball when it hit him.
It isn't suppose to be since he was stationed BEHIND the infielders. Had he been on the inside then yes that is umpire interference and the ball is declared dead.
However, in this case since the runner was no longer trying to advance (SS picked the ball up almost immediately) he went ahead and killed it. There is a provision in the rules allowing umpires to call and immediate dead ball in a case where an injury may have occurred to someone on the field... but I don't think that is what happened here. I think he just saw that there was no longer any attempt to advance and he erroneously killed it to make sure nothing stupid happened.

A straight line to the bag is much different for a right handed batter and left handed. A leftie running straight to the bag is naturally in the running lane.

But it hasn't been... or you'd see it in use already. Watch the video below from the ejection of Ji Hwan Bae of the Pirates. This happened within the last 48 hours. Look at the difference in the box on the screen (what roboump will be based on) and the MLB pitch tracker. Also note the difference in the top part of the box and what the definition of the top part of the zone is...
The technology is just imperfect right now. And when you are talking about the costs associated with potentially fixing 10 pitches a game...it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

If a team goes through the bracket undefeated there should be some sort of unfair advantage
Only if they re-seed with new pairings for CWS to at least attempt to ensure brackets face similar competition, not some preconceived pairing before tourney starts.

Yeah I don't see why we're still relying on umps to call a game in 2023. It would be so easy to do and it would be consistent.
How does it get implemented at all 300 D1 baseball schools? Is it cheap and easy to install in every stadium?

He blatantly broke the rule. No choice but to call him out
If it’s determined that any player intentionally interferes with a play he is to be called out
You can’t pick and chose which rules are to be enforced and you can’t combine 2 rules to make it fit your narrative!
