Hopefully he won’t be around long enough to find out.

Alleva is gone. Just a matter of when, not if.

FFS. If Alleva is still here when basketball season starts it is proof that the admin doesn't care and football will be completely irrelevant for the foreseeable future.

I heard from a good authority that Eddie Nunez (Deputy AD) deserces 100% of credit for the Will Wade hire. Eddie is a basketball guy and was in charge of the search.

After seeing the lack of effort he put into the football coaching search, I highly doubt that Alleva was doing a whole lot of the work to hire Wade.

He should be gone before Wade coaches his first conference game, if not sooner.

Not sure if it made it's rounds here yesterday, but an article I read yesterday makes me super hopeful Alleva is gone before the basketball season starts. Basically Alleva made a bunch of promises to Wade about facilities and whatnot and hasn't come through on it, which is typical for Alleva. Apparently in Wade's first PC after camp started he was noticeably annoyed at the lack of progress on some things. So if Joe sticks around and keeps making his empty promises, LSU is just a stepping stone for Wade when another program comes calling.

Hopefully not. What precedent does that set? You can completely bomb on two coaching hire and hope that another potential good coach comes to YOU asking for the job?

Alleva didn't go out and get Wade. Wade sought out LSU. He knew the job was going to come available at the end of the year (especially after he drummed LSU in the Bahamas) and had his people contact LSU at least two months before Jones was actually fired to express his interest in the LSU job if/when Jones was let go. Wade turned down his alma mater (Clemson) because he felt LSU has the resources to become what Florida became under Donovan. Wade wanted to be at LSU.

If not for Wade's pushing it's highly likely that Alleva makes yet another stupid hire. Remember, this is the same idiot that:

(a) Let Trent Johnson stay well after it was clear he wasn't going to work out at LSU. It was Johnson who actually left LSU. Because he wasn't proactive, Alleva put himself in a bind to hire Johnson's replacement who was...

(b) Johnny Jones. A guy who for 11 years had minor success at N. Tex. Still, in those 11 years he was never even considered to be a candidate for a power conf. HC job. But, he was a LA native and LSU grad. He also had "campaign team" led by Dale Brown. Despite no indication whatsoever that Jones would likely succeed at LSU, Alleva hired him and then....

(c) made the EXACT SAME frickING HIRE for the football program. Like Jones, Ogeron was a candidate for exactly NO ONE ELSE in major college football. Like Jones, Alleva vastly overpaid for a guy who had no market. Jones' options for a power conf. HC position were LSU and no one else. Same for Ogeron. Yet that didn't stop Alleva from hiring both.

Somehow Alleva gets credit for Duke having a great basketball program...one that was great before he even stepped on campus at Duke. Does anyone really tink Alleva had any input whatsoever in Coach K's basketball program? He just kept his mouth such and did whatever Coach K told him to do.

Alleva did have a chance to make a football hire at Duke though. Eventually that hire was David Cutcliffe. However, it was widely reported that Alleva favored Karl Dorell over Cutcliffe. Thank God for Duke someone overruled that decision.

How many times does Alleva have to prove he is incompetent before LSU finally wakes the frick up?!

No as good as a hire I think Will Wade is it doesn't make up for completely destroying the football program.
