We are searching for stability of any type right now, and understand their messaging, but I don't see Verge being entrusted with this decision... Too much money at stake...

Had a working relationship with Verge many many years ago, doubt he has changed too much since then other than how we all do.
Verge is a serious man who doesn’t take many things lightly. From that perspective, I understand why he was promoted through the years as administration changed. The ADs could rely on him to get things done correctly without following up.
If Verge is leading this search, I very much doubt it will be based on friendships and connections. I think he would likely fall more into the analytical and research camp. However, I do think if there is a concern here, it would be the sell side to the coach. But maybe that is where the good ole baws CEOs come in.
I have no idea how Verge will do during his time as interim AD, but I do know that shite will get done and there will be no question about priorities. If you look back a few administrations ago, you will remember that isn’t always what ADs are concerned about.

I feel much better after listening to this morning's press conference.
Verge knows what he is doing and I am happy with the people on the committee.
