Georgia.

I can't stand these interlopers that have wormed their way into the SEC,
Texas and OK. That also includes Missouri, Texas AM.
I miss the old SEC.

shite like that is why Texas needs to lose this game to bring them back to reality. OU is getting a hefty reality check with their schedule. Texas having a good team and only playing UGA in Austin this year is a travesty. "The SEC not ready for Texas" after they've played exactly 1 game, against Ms State, at home, and have not even played an SEC road game yet. They only play 3 true SEC road games all year.

They are already unbearable. If they go undefeated and "win" the SEC in year 1 having played a schedule of Ms State, Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas and missing Bama, Tenn, Ole Miss, and LSU, we will NEVER hear the end of it.

UGA still plays Ole Miss and Tenn, back-to-back.
Bama has Tenn then Mizzou, plus LSU and OU.
Tenn has Bama, Kentucky, and Georgia.
aTm has LSU followed by @South Carolina, ending with Texas.
If LSU can take care of business, the other teams will sort themselves out.

Texas remaining schedule:
UGA
@Vandy - Oct 26th and this is their first SEC road trip
BYE
Florida
@Ark
Kentucky
@aTm

If Texas has the team they think they do, this weekend and the aggies are their only two difficult games remaining. frick Texas going undefeated in their first year. GO DAWGS.

I’d like to see Georgia eliminated from the SEC title game. Plus beating undefeated Texas would be way more fun

No one wants to see Texas on their high horse. They could use a boot in the arse.

Definately Texas to lose, they have far more NIL potential than anyone else and are far more likely to be the new Bama

IMO, it is better for LSU this year and in the long run for UGA to lose. IN recent years, UGA is more dynastic than Texas has been.

We do recruit against both schools, so no advantage there.

Truth is, however, what is most important is for LSU to keep winning. LSU winning is what I want most. LSU keeps winning and it wont matter whether Texass or UGA wins Saturday.

For LSU’s chances to make the playoff? I would think we want Texas to win.

Here's a different take. Let's say UGA wins and Texas falls out of the top 4. All the Big 10 teams likely fill the top 4 slots so no SEC team has to travel north to play outside in December. It would be best if those hosted games were played in the best possible conditions. The only problem is Iowa State so I hope they lose one soon.

IDK, with 2 losses, it puts UGA in a bind, and helps LSU out should they lose another one.

On the other hand, TX losing means everyone in conference has 1 loss and opens up all sorts of possibilites.

Plus, F Texas!

I don’t really care. I want Alabama to win, however. Get TS as much juice as possible for when they roll into town.

I disagree. If we go undefeated in the SEC then we play in the SEC Championship game no matter what. If UGA wins and we drop a game, then we are locked with UGA, Bama, A&M, and Texas all as one loss teams. We don't play UGA or Texas and its unlikely either team drops another game. I am not sure how the tie breakers will work but I'd rather have Texas as undefeated number 1 and UGA as a 2 loss SEC team. This gives us more wiggle room to lose a game and still make the SEC Championship game.

Only way we want UGA to win is if we want to try to avoid the SEC championship game to avoid the risk of missing the playoffs. It sounds counter intuitive but lets say we lose a game and get to the SEC Championship game vs Texas or UGA but lose that game. I could see the committee saying that a 10-2 UGA, Bama, Ole Miss, A&M is a better fit than a 10-3 LSU that just lost. I am not saying thats a guarantee but it definitely could happen.

That's fair.

I also agree the SEC Championship could screw a team this year. It is entirely possible a 2 loss SEC team will make it to the SECCG. It is likely at least a few 2 loss teams (overall) will be in the conversation for a CFP spot. What would the committee do if a 10-2 SEC team drops the SECCG and falls to 10-3 with other SEC teams at 10-2 (or teams from any conferences)?

Would the committee say "sorry, you have 3 loses and this team only has 2", giving no credence that the ONLY reason that team has a 3rd loss is because they were forced to play another game the other teams weren't? That is (almost) EXACTLY what happened to Auburn in 2017. They were ranked #2 going into the SECCG. They lost to Georgia (who they had already blown out earlier). Had Auburn not had to play in the SECCG they would have been in the CFP based upon the rankings. But because they did...and lost, it allowed Alabama (also a team AU beat) to back into the CFP by doing nothing but sitting at home.

Conference championships are going to create an unequal playing field because its going to force a handful of teams to play a tough game other CFP contenders won't. They need to be eliminated. Of course, they won't because they make too much money. That's ultimately going to result in quickly expanding the playoff field again to account for that issue. An issue that could be easily avoided by just getting rid of the completely unnecessary conf. championship games.

The flip side of that is worth the risk. As fun as hosting a playoff game in TS would be, winning that CCG gives the team a first-round bye. If your outcomes are "win and you're in, lose and you're out," that CCG is already a playoff game for the team.

Georgia/ do not need Texas being any more arrogant than they already are. This is not a good look if they come in here year one and win the SEC need them to pay their dues!

Huh? The top 4 slots go to conference champions. Only 1 SEC team is going to be a top 4 seed.
