Not everything is a conspiracy out to get LSU. CBS got pick #1 for their primetime slot and went with A&M/Bama. ESPN had the number 2 selection and picked the best available game which was Tennessee/LSU but because CBS gets an exclusive window for their primetime game, ESPN can't air their typical 6PM SEC game. SEC Network has a 6:30 time slot but had ESPN passed on LSU/Tennessee with the #2 selection hoping to grab it at #4 for a 6:30 SEC Network game, CBS would have grabbed it first for their 2:30 slot.

And by that time 1/2 of the fans are leaving to "beat the traffic".

I did not notice people trying to beat the traffic against State. They did leave after halftime against Southern, but it was an out of control blowout and traffic was the worst I have ever seen it. I don’t know about New Mexico as I did not go to that game. I have a feeling people will stick around for this game if it is close.

This isn’t hard to figure out. UGA/Auburn is a 230 CBS game almost every year and UGA is going to attract more eyeballs that LSU/UT. Bama/AM is going to be Saban vs Jimbo and they can market that into the dirt. UGA and Bama are numbers 1 and 2. They are more marketable. It sucks but that’s the logic.

No, it was Gary Danielson.

I’ve never minded 11am games. I guess people don’t like it because they aren’t sufficiently drunk yet like they’d be later.

That's not it for me. I can start drinking as early as I need to. I don't like them because the entire stadium is in the sun for the entire game. That's brutal unless it's mid November.

This just doesn’t make any sense.

take off the purple and gold glasses and it makes a ton of sense. all CBS cares about is eyeballs. Nationally, not regionally.

CBS wanted the #1 team in the country against their oldest rival. A rivalry where weird shite happens sometimes.

they also wanted the Bama v A&M game because of the national attention that got with the Jimbo/Saban spat during off-season.

If you watched Tennessee v Florida Saturday you saw a lot of cheating for Tennessee. Not sure if it was a 1 off but be ready for shenanigans when they come here.

I would believe that they picked 11 am to protect Tennessee more than I’d believe that it was to spite Kelly. Like it or not, conference image matters

And Covid was an attempt to take over the world, right? They’re hiding space aliens from us? Oh, they ARE space aliens?

This is CBS’ MO and has been for a few years.

It kind of sucks that it happened this week where we're one of the best games for the first time in a long while, but in weeks where CBS does the primetime double header, the picks are CBS 7 PM-ESPN-CBS 2:30. ESPN doesn't want to have their premiere game of the week compete with CBS' better game, so they choose to broadcast it at 11. We were picked by ESPN second, so we're playing at 11.

We are LSU dammit! We play at night!

I’m not sure if your aware but LSU isn’t the same program as 2019. Since last year you have lost to UCLA, Kansas State and an Overrated FSU team at home basically. And regardless if you play at night or mid day, you are still not better than UT.

I know the fans hate the 11 AM kickoff, but 11AM games have been good to LSU

As opposed to a Tennessee program that has been mostly irrelevant since 2001? Vol fans need to take a look in the mirror with all their crowing. They finally have a semblance of a pulse and act like they’ve won the East more than once since 01’. Nice that they have a shot at being better than 8-4 or 7-5 this year but let’s pump the brakes.

that actually makes more sense.

Basically we're looking at the 2:30 games as #2, when in reality, the ESPN 11am is pick 2

1) Ignore the rules and how things work
2) Claim it doesn't make any sense
