Did the media’s hate for Brian Kelly cause the 11am kick?

This just doesn’t make any sense. We are LSU dammit! We play at night!

Not when you have the last two years being a shite show.... this is what you get.

Doesn't ND play at 11am a lot? Seems like that only helps him as far as schedule wise for the week how to prepare and be ready for the early kick

I would believe that they picked 11 am to protect Tennessee more than I’d believe that it was to spite Kelly.
Like it or not, conference image matters and the SEC needs to prop up at least a couple of teams like Tenn, Arky, Kentucky, and A&M to make it look like the conference is deep with 10 win programs. Obviously not all these teams will win 10 games but they will do their best to make sure at least a couple of them do.
The best way to try to influence these games outside of outright fixing it via officiating(which I only believe happens in the nfl), is to try to cancel out home field advantage for the opponents of their “better teams”.
I’m not saying I believe this theory to be true, just that it’s more believable than they SEC is out to get Coach Kelly.

Georgia is ranked No. 1. This is CBS’ MO and has been for a few years. They will take the No. 1 team as much as they can get them. And they were always going to put A&M-Bama at night even before Fisher and Saban’s little girl fight.
Please stop with the “the media hates LSU”, “the media hates Brian Kelly” takes and starting stupid threads like this for two weeks. The 11 am kickoff sucks. We all hate it. But quit crying like Jimbo Fisher.

No it probably has more to do with wanting one of the best games in a slot not vs another sec game. Bama/A&M at night, UGA/ Auburn at 2:30

CBS wants Alabama v. A&M to be their national showcase game. So they were NEVER going to allow another SEC game with national appeal to be played at approximately the same time...on a different network.
Now, (at least pending the result of the LSU v Auburn game) you could make a strong argument LSU v. Tennessee was a better choice for the 2:30 spot than UGA v Auburn. However, Georgia is the defending champ and #1 team in the country. Is it more likely LSU v Tennessee will be a more competitive game? Absolutely. But the #1 team often draws more NATIONAL attention than a (currently) unranked team with back to back .500 seasons. We may not like it...but that is the current reality until LSU regains the national respect the program lost over the last two seasons.

We can bitch and moan about how unfair this is but this is the root of the issue. If we were even remotely relevant this would have never happened.

I’ve never minded 11am games. I guess people don’t like it because they aren’t sufficiently drunk yet like they’d be later.

Will be interesting to see how this game is officiated. Tennessee seems to be the SEC darling this year after sucking for such a long time.

And the stadium doesn’t wake up until the second half because of this

Alabama played at 11am a couple weeks ago.

No, they suck regardless because you have to get up and get moving so early just to make it to the game on time because of how bad the traffic is with everyone basically arriving at the same time, parking, etc. Also, it's hot as balls usually.

Jesus fricking Christ, our fans are embarrassing.

Sure it does but I don't know why so many people here choose to ignore the explanation.

Brian Kelly has coached plenty of 11:00 games at ND. Bama had to play Texas at 11:00. It is part of big time football with TV.

And by that time 1/2 of the fans are leaving to "beat the traffic".
