re: Did Mainieri’s demeanor give you any confidence about the outcome of this year?

Nothing surprises me coming out of his mouth. A couple years ago he compared himself to the worlds greatest artists and said that at the beginning of the year his team is a shapeless lump of clay that he molds into a championship team. So basically his stance is always that it’s all him and the players don’t really matter. But then as the season slips away he’ll complain about unfair recruiting conditions and LSUs disadvantages. He’s a pompous jackass who’s always throwing kids under the bus while patting himself on the back and what’s worse, he doesn’t amount to the standard of LSU baseball.

This was the greatest team in college baseball.
Smoke had such "great" teams Skip had to fire him.

Not sure about his demeanor, but I have had two primary concerns about Mainieri for a few years now:
1. Injured pitchers
2. No real hitting coach and inconsistency at the plate
It sounds to me that he has addressed both of these things and I am more excited today about the season than I was before. If the hitting comes around, they have the arms to win it all.

Smoke went to the World Series at a higher rate than CPM he just didn’t win one.

I listened to a lot of PM’s presser today on radio.
You may not like what he says, and you may disagree with his overall strategy, but PM provides more hard news and gives out more information about his players than any coach I’ve ever followed at LSU.
The presser today was very informative and if you are a real baseball fan you have all you need to know about what to look for early on.

This was the greatest team in college baseball. This guy is destroying it a slow death. Just like miles. Needs to go.
Yep, Mainieri took that Corvette from Smoke and ran it into a brick wall.

The guy is an awful baseball coach that caught lightning in a bottle once. He’s Probably the second worst head coach on campus in a major besides Fargas

Come on, man. It's the coach's job to mold the players and mold the team into a winner. Acting as if he's saying it's all about him and that the players don't matter is a HUGE leap.

Mainieri’s demeanor rarely gives me any confidence. If we see the team playing loose and having fun, I think we’re in for a good year.

Agree but there’s a much better way to translate that. You don’t call yourself Van Gogh and the players a lump, you say something like the team has to take shape or the talents and roles have to be brought together. But that’s him he’s always the bright star and the players are always his obstacle in his story.

Not directly saying this about you, but in general I think people just find things to pick apart about Paul because he isn't Skip.

What about my post has anything to do with "pumping"? I simply said he doesn't know just like we don't know.

It’s because he doesn’t win and he’s dropped the programs profile. Nobody is expecting 5 titles in 10 years but LSU is equivalent to Alabama football or Duke Basketball and 1 title in 13 years isn’t nearly good enough. What’s worse is that he’s had 3-4 teams who were head and shoulders better than anyone else but through his own stupid mistakes failed. The criticism is well worth it.

There it is; the first Pumper "It's Baseball" nonsense of the year.
According to several MLB aces, who were throwing impossible pitches for hitters to lay off consistently, the Astros have given new meaning to the saying "that's baseball".

Yeah, but he gave us this.....

he flat out said one of the lefties wasn’t good and they haven’t decided if they’ll keep him on the team.
So will that leave them with one lefty again?

Somebody on SEC Rant said he was trying to see over homeplate. I don't know which is funnier, that or the gif itself.
