Jimbo was never going to come from the start. Yes he was offered but it wasn’t happening. He is more than happy where he is at.

I honestly don’t believe this and seriously doubt Jimbo was even approached for the job.

Dellenger is spot on in his reporting. Highly doubt he's lying or wrong.

Hard to believe for me. Jimbo is unproven. Had a O and Chiz season with Jameis.

Delly spinning fake news, Scott should punish him by cutting off all his access. it's time LSU drug its nuts over these lying media members

Man I'm glad that didn't work out. A&M is paying $10M per year for an 8-4 coach.

But what if we did take him and won a championship within the next 3 years…. Proving what we all know, LSU >>>>> A&M

Smells like bullshite...

There is rampant cognitive dissonance and denial on this board. Any time a reported fact is is inconsistent with the majority's preferred narrative of the how the search was conducted, it is decried as "fake news," no matter how credible the source. Dellinger is credible. It would not surprise me one iota that Woodward pursued Jimbo until the end.
In any event, it is all moot. No matter how it happened, we hired Kelly, who is an accomplished coach. Nothing else matters.

Not buying it unless verified by SW.

I feel sorry for you that you think any media is credible. they are mostly clowns that do what the agent puppet masters tell them.
Delly has never and will never be 100 percent right

I don’t believe this is completely accurate. Scott had to have been in contact with Kelly or at least his agent BEFORE we played aTm.
And I don’t know how good BK will be at LSU, but I’m glad we’ve got him instead of Jimbo.
I didn’t like Jimbo when was was Saban and Miles OC and, after a national title at FSU he basically did the exact same thing there that Orgeron did here after winning. Add to that his underperforming at aTm, I’d say he’s one of the lost overrated coaches in the country.
Let him stay an Aggie.

This is not just cognitive dissonance.
There are a lot of us out here who have not made up their minds on Scott Woodward and were/are not invested in a particular solution to the HC opening that existed in BR.
Dellinger's story just does not make a lot of sense, particularly in the reported amounts offered. The BOS approved Scott getting the best available but to offer this much to Fisher (who is coming off 8-4 yr.) would stretch Woodward's credibility beyond the breaking point. He had no incentive to take on that level of personal risk, regardless of what he thinks about Fisher.

LSU was prepared to offer Fisher an 8-year, $125 million deal - $13 million/year
How would he know this?
From my understanding there were no leaks from the search and only Scott, Verge and Stephanie Rempe knew who the hire was going to be.
Are we to believe they leaked the numbers to McMurphy? I think the more likely scenario is this came from Fisher's people and is bullshite.

I mentioned previously on a few occasions that I'm convinced Woodward was negotiating with several people simultaneously - at least Kelly, Jimbo, and Riley.
If Woodward WASNT doing this, then he wasn’t doing his job.
I’m not so naive to think the only guy they talked to is the only one who ended up taking the job. Cmon man.

Who gives a rats arse. A new coach has been hired now move on!!!!!!

This is so stupid and obviously fake news. LSU wouldn’t have offered one guy $13 million and paid another $9.5 million. Woodward doesn’t let leaks happen. That’s why everyone was so in the dark. No one that mattered mentioned Brian Kelly. Any inside info you hear is either made up by “an insider” or a fake leak by Woodward to catch the loose lips.
Not saying it’s true, but no matter how tight a ship Woodward runs, he can’t control leaks from the party on the other side of the phone.
