It was directed to the people here downplaying the affect a prolonged run has on the next season. Some are saying it's only an excuse with minimal effect.
It definitely should not grant an auto berth though.

I said this in 2010 and I’ll say it again. Going all the way through Omaha puts you behind in preparing for the next season, and is such a monumental achievement that it should give you more leeway the next year.
Now, if like this year the champ would otherwise miss the tourney, they should be slotted as the 4-seed in the 1 overall regional.
I’d still give us a better shot at taking down UCLA than whatever directional cow school on which that spot will be wasted.
WHAT THE frick??!!. I guess you think they should just get rid of pitchers and hit off a tee too? You must have a shitload of participation trophies on your fireplace mantle.

Great idea since it interrupts recruiting and you lose most of your players to the draft and your pitching coach will most likely get a HC job somewhere. It takes 2 years to catch up. Golf does it. You should get a little something for winning a natty.. Send this to Trump.

UCLA just almost went wire to wire as the #1 team this year and only stopped playing 5 days before we did in the CWS last year
Just let this die already, coaches dropped the ball, it happens.
Applying a previous year result to have any bearing on the postseason for the following season is one of the dumbest concepts I've ever heard of on here. Pre-season polls dont matter, the postseason though? Just a really stupid, terrible idea. It's 2 totally different teams being judged on their own merits for the postseason, as they should.

This might come across as crazy take but as much as I’d like us being in NCAAs objectively we not good enough with this years club & it would have only added to my disappointment. We were not gonna make a run
