The MLBPA doesn’t give rat’s arse about minor league players. I’m sure they couldn’t care less about the rights of the amateur players that would be affected by that proposed rule.
I generally agree with that sentiment. They care about players currently in the league and will concede rookie money if it inflates veteran salaries.
The PAs might posture and pretend it's a major concession during negotiations to win elsewhere though.
Similar to when the NFLPA slashed rookie contracts and set slot caps. No one is actually at the table to fight for incoming guys. Their money just gets reallocated.
Now the MLB draft is a completely different beast so I'm very intrigued to see how this plays out.
re: In reference to framing pitches…

Framing is an art. As a former college catcher you have to know when to frame. The catching something out of the zone and pulling it back is actually more harmful than beneficial. The art is extending the arm and catching it in a natural looking position. Positioning your catchers mitt in a way to receive it closer to the zone. Most of today’s catchers do not receive the ball well.
Everything you say is true but isn't consistently accurate in the college game unfortunately. Umpires consistently fall for guys pulling balls back into the strike zone. It's frustrating to watch.
Ironically, the worse the "frame" job, it seems the higher chance of success. Even with our teams. Our recent catchers are sub standard at receiving but seem to steal more strikes than Milazo, Hernandez or Papierski did.

I agree with you completely, but what does that have to do with defending champions getting an automatic berth?
It was directed to the people here downplaying the affect a prolonged run has on the next season. Some are saying it's only an excuse with minimal effect.
It definitely should not grant an auto berth though.

Obviously terrible take by OP and I'm not making excuses for the terrible LSU season. It was an inexcusable debacle.
However, to pretend that making a finals run in the prior year doesn't hurt just isn't accurate and is ignoring empirical evidence.
Since 2021 (portal), both the CWS winner and runner up have had significant decline in the following year. Literally all 10 teams.
Champion win totals drop 34% and runner ups drop 33%. Average win totals go from 52 to 34. Win percentage goes from 75% to 57%. The data is almost identical for both champions and 2nd place.

re: Where the hell is the game in the RHSTV app?

From what I've read on here, you have to caste to the TV from a mobile app and can't watch directly on the app.
It sounds absurd but hopefully that helps.

Been saying this for years! Not hard to do. I’m also for electronic balls and strikes, but baseball’s a traditionalist, stubborn sport. Tennis added electronic line calling and nobody bitches about line calls anymore.
I just don't understand the argument against electronic strike calls. Yesterday, their catcher was jerking the mitt close to a foot to "frame" strikes and he was getting the calls. Coastal's "amazing" catcher last year did the same. That just isn't supposed to be effective at high levels of baseball.
As a freshman catcher in high school, my coach made fun of me for trying that.
re: What other teams have tried to steal Lane from ole miss?

There were reports that Miami was making a quiet play for him as well. Sounds absurd now but at the time Miami had just lost 2 of their last 3 games and looked like they might implode.
Fans were grumbling about Cristobal.

He may not admit this but he donated a smooth million towards BK buyout if they could get Kiffin. He and Kiffin are good friends and he wanted him in BR. So behind the scenes he helped the cause.

I’m sure it’s mostly from overloading his mouth too
I'm just reading the room. And yeah, he definitely talks shite. You're not wrong.
His takes just seem more reasonable than most of that clan.
He is not an LSU fan. He grew up here and loves the city and is a huge Saints supporter. We all loved him when he plastered billboards blasting the NFL after the Saints loss.
Went to Ole Miss and supports them. Just like we all do with our alma mater. The hate is just weird.

He's actually a pretty reasonable Ole M8ss fan. He's realistic about the advantages LSU has vs Ole Miss.

They shouldn’t forgo high school recruiting, they should be more selective. Imagine not having Pickett or Berry last year.
Unfortunately, it isn't too hard to imagine not having Berry on the field last year.
Got it, thanks. So basically 5 of their best 6 seasons. Good enough for me.

Not trying to internet goalie you and I'm no historian. How did we spoil 1962?
I would like to use this against some Ole MIss guys but I like to check my work. They beat us in 62.

It really is amazing. I've already stolen it and asked some Ole Miss friends. High comedy btw.

I hate Pete Carroll. As every self respecting LSU fan over 40 should.
That being said, thanks to Pete if he didn't bash LSU in this process.

Funny you bring this up . I noticed Milam did not participate in the dog pile after the CWS
That was hilarious. If anyone can find that video, it's worth a look. He ran to the pile late, got spooked and hopped back with his hands kind of clutched up to his chest.
He wanted no part of it.

Johnson is 10 years younger than Bianco, who was a favorite of Bertman, many former LSU players, many LSU fans in general and a common sense hire. Bianco, according to sources, would have taken the job if offered. Yes, he has just the one trip to the College World Series and six super regional losses. But Bianco knows the SEC and has been a consistent contender despite scholarship disadvantages unique to Ole Miss in addition to brand name power Mississippi State right next door with unique scholarship advantages.
Quote from the article. This might be the craziest excuse making I've ever seen anywhere.

From someone who has to fly back in the morning, I would love it getting pushed back a bit.

He did well but easy with us not winning. I mean a guy slid off a bag and he tagged him. He retreated to a base for a put out, had a wild throw Jones saved him on. The one huge play was in the 9th in the hole. Outstanding play, and definitely contributed to the W, but idk if a single to left with no one on base saved the game. I did forget his amazing bunt out.
Seriously, you should just go frick off. He had an amazing defensive game and we're one win away from a 2nd championship in three years. But you have to jump in and throw rain in the parade. You seem miserable, take that shite somewhere else tonight.
