9 SEC teams are definitely in.
Florida
UGA
Ark
Ole Miss
Auburn
USCe
Vandy
A&M
State
UK and LSU are bubble teams.
Yep
Head to head it comes down to what you weigh
Conference wins or RPI
UK RPI 25
LSU RPI 39
SEC Record
UK 13-18
LSU 16-15
If SEC is 10 teams than who gets in depends if they weigh RPI or Conference wins more. If I remember correctly conference wins is more than RPI.
I think reasonably SEC could get 11 teams.
a win today or tomorrow locks us in in my mind.

good point. I like our chances and I think we get it. But it's far from a lock.
It may come down to other teams on the bubble. We shall see.

Honestly the thing that will stop us from getting in is our road record.
When it comes to everything else and the other bubble teams not in the SEC, LSU is ahead in most categories.

road record does hurt but I still think we are in.
If we beat UF tonight we are a lock.

If several auto-bids end up getting taken by non-tourney teams, we could still be in trouble.

Has Warren Nolan stopped updating scores? They seem to be stuck.

Game 2 of the tournament started at 2:10pm yesterday. We're about on that same trajectory today other than having a extra inning game. Looking more like a 5:30pm 1st pitch today depending on rain and 10 run rule.
Auburn and Ole Miss play next... our game will be starting a lot later than 5:30. We started at 6:00 yesterday. Expect a later start tonight.

Not to derail but while we're pondering possibilities....there was a thread a week or so ago about the possibility of being sent to the Northeast and playing in a regional in Fenway.
Anyone know if that's even a possibility?
Sitting here fantasizing at work.

No, I don't think UConn bid to host there

Would choose Corvallis but those fans, geesh.
They were still complaining about the umpiring in Omaha during the LSU/UF Series. Couldn't let it go. I asked one of them WTF are you still doing here?
Posted on 5/23/18 at 2:53 pm to Whataburger
I think UConn would host in New Britain Stadium (seats over 6,000) because the other two minor league teams in CT have home games next weekend.

A much deeper look into bubble teams, and tournament out look are now posted in the second post of the thread.

Has Florida announced their pitcher tonight?

In last year's SEC baseball tournament 3 out of 4 teams that won the "play-in" game on Tuesday lost their second game on Wednesday against teams that got a first day bye. Only Miss St won their second game beating Arkansas 4-3.
Arkansas then run ruled Auburn 12-0 to stay alive to play and defeat Miss St on Friday, thus eliminating the bell ringers, 9-2.
Arkansas then played Florida in the single elimination game on Saturday run-ruling the Gators 16-0.
That set up the championship game of Arkansas vs. LSU Tigers on Sunday. LSU won that game 4-2.

I just can't fathom LSU being left out at this point, unless the committee is absolutely dead set on keeping 11 teams from the SEC from making it. If they put the best teams, with the best resumes in LSU has to easily be in.
There is 20 spots, with 28 bubbles. LSU's is easily in the top 10 of those 28 teams. I know its early, but at this point, no conference tourney that has 1-2 clear favorites that we need to win have lost.
So let's just assume that 5 of those conference tournaments have bid stealers. That puts 15 at large bids. At worst you can say LSU is a last 5 in, with that scenario, but I still think they should rank 5-8 among bubble teams.

Right now Tuesday winners will be 2 for 2 against first round bye teams. If Auburn holds on against Ole Miss.
Maybe we can keep that trend going.
