You got a link to back that claim?

He's under contract through 2029. I don't see Baylor buying out 6 seasons.

Plus he will get one shot at a Big 12 without Texas and Oklahoma.

Come back Dave! But can he operate under BK?

What does this even mean? He operated under two of the biggest morons in CFB coaching history.

He won a title here already. He has nothing else to look forward to here.

This is true in a general sense but 1) as someone posted, the gumps have a ton of coordinator turnover. We have to believe Kelly offers that same type of stability as HC that Saban does. 2) With this sieve defense, do you not fire House just to keep things “stable”?

What are his major connections, exactly?

Couple that with his Texas connections,

That I will buy but still concerned that he does not like recruiting.

If Kelly hires Aranda, it will be because he respects his resume as a DC and Aranda is interested in taking a DC job.

I am also not convinced he is even considering replacing house.

Not happening> For lots a reasons:
House may not be fired;
Aranda unlikely to be fired even if the bottom falls out in Waco;
If Aranda was fired he has a six year payout. Why would he work for anybody for a year or two, if he got fired?
If fired, House fired, and Aranda wanted to work, why would he go to LSU, not USC?
Why would Kelly want someone who owes his allegiance to others than predate Kelly and the loyalty issues which come with that?

Not sure CBK would want to hire someone with an LSU past.

I'm fully onboard with Aranda as DC, but his one glaring weakness is recruiting. He has openly expressed his dislike for that aspect of the job. While at LSU, he was surrounded by above average if not elite recruiters, who played significant role in helping him land his guys. If he were to return, would be be able to recruit at the highest level to construct championship level defense? Just looking at who we currently have on staff now, it's a legitimate concern. I believe with a couple of good hires Kelly could bolster that weakness. NIL can help, but LSU hasn't shown they have deep enough pockets to compete with the GA, Texas, USC, Miami's of the world!

Do not like that one bit. His defense with Riley’s offense, USC would be scary good

I’m not convinced Lincoln Riley won’t bolt for the NfL this year when Caleb Williams leaves.
USC could easily lose 5 of their last 6 games bc of their defense. [ND, UCLA, Wash, Oregon & Utah left on schedule]

His stock will never be higher and going to the nfl would be easier than having to answer the question about fixing his defense.

I'd rather have a really good coordinator for 2-3 years who leaves b/c of his success to take a HC job than a perpetually mediocre one. Good coordinators leave, that's just how it works.

We need a DC that can coach AND recruit.

For LSU a good recruiter going forward is useless. NIL money is the new recruiter.
Good recruiter = $$
Bad recruiter = $$$$
One guess where an 18 year old is signing. Why is this so hard for everyone to comprehend.

Good recruiters also know how to handle boosters. Good recruiters have always had a piece of their job be "fundraisers". It's just legal now.

Worried about his next hire based on this one

I don't disagree but I also don't think he gives frick all about bringing back a guy that was here when we won a natty.

In fact, his ego alone might keep him from doing it.
