re: Daniels is the best running QB and 2nd best passing QB in LSU history. Think about that.

Too bad his effort is going to be lost to history in a sea of defensive ineptitude.
In ten years hardly anyone will remember who Jayden Daniels is other than hardcore LSU football fans.

So you mean to tell me a guy who barely completed half his passes and had 24 INTS in year 3 and 4 in the system is a superior passer?
Muh eye test says he processes faster

Season isn't over. Beat Bama and we are in a great spot

Don't let facts get in the way of your opinion.

look this usually does not happen in a 5th year after his past 4 years starting but somehow he flipped a switch and now has way better pocket presence and is throwing downfield instead of taking all those sacks he did last year. however, it still does not mean he throws better than those i listed or has a faster processor. it is the same ones who bragged about his comp rate last year when his intermediate and deep numbers wwere nowhere near as good thuis the short balls being why his comp rate was so high. but they did not want to accept that.
he gets it this year and lets hope he keeps it up. we will need it against bama. he is no doubt the best running Qb we have had.

Show me the facts that say Hodson is a better passer than JD. I'll wait.

LSU was unranked at this time last year and got throttled AT HOME by Tennessee. To start the Texas am game we were number 6.
This
LSU also beat two Top 10 teams before the A&M game in Ole Miss and Alabama. LSU played only one Top 10 this year and was soundly beaten. They lost to Ole Miss who was ranked 20, and Alabama has a very good chance at being lower than 11 when LSU plays them this year. The SEC schedule isn't as strong as it was in years past. So if Georgia doesn't win the conference, then no one gets into the playoff. Looking at the Top 10, if Ga loses and the rest all win out except for the B10, which one has to lose, the Final 4 will be Michigan/OSU(B10), Fla St.(ACC), Washington(Pac-12), and Oklahoma(BXII). LSU will likely finish around 6-7. And that's if the Tigers beat UGa when they are #1.

Okay Mr. Future reader. What if Florida State loses two including the ACC title? What if the Pac-12 beat each other up and a two loss team wins their title? What if Texas and OU both lose another game and don't win their title? What if there is an upset in the Big 10 championship.
All it takes is ONE conference to have an upset in their conference championship

so hodson, jones, davey, JR, etc threw an uglier ball and could not process as fast as JD5?
Correct.
Right now it's:
1. Burrow
2. JD
3. Jamarcus (as painful as it is, real recognizes real)

the fact you do not think all those listed above would not have lights out passing stats in this age of offense is mind numbingly ignorant.
Compare them to peers. The only one with that argument is JR, who was the best QB in CFB in 2006
Rohan, Mauck, Flynn, Mett, Hodson, etc. were not on that level.
I can't speak for Bert Jones or YA Tittle because I'm not a boomer.

Oh boy

Denbrock is much improved with a better offense that doesn't require JD to literally do everything. That's the primary difference. JD is only marginally better.

JD hesitation or lack of confidence to press the ball down field was the issue.
How many times did we see BK telling him after a stalled drive to “throw it, it’s 1 on 1”? Teams started dating him to go deep.
After FSU, it’s like he finally flipped the switch. He’s trusting his arm and WRs, which has opened up the entire offense and teams don’t know how to defend him.

Yea, it’s not like it didn’t happen 3 seasons ago when Joe burrow did the same exact thing lmao.
We all told you this was in the cards. You should be embarrassed at all your anti-Daniels posts leading up to this

that ole miss loss is potentially a history changing loss if this team wins outs but misses the playoff.
we win out, miss the playoff, win the cotton or orange bowl, and then beat ole miss by 40 at home next year, then it’s forgotten.

JD should surpass his TD total from last season during the Army game (28 TDs in 2022; 26 TDs this season). Pretty impressive considering last season LSU played 14 games and we are 7 games in so far.
He's also on pace to surpass last seasons total yards by game 10.

Imagine we blow out Bama, Florida and aTm then beat Georgia handily in the seccg. We still likely miss the playoff.
That will depend on those other teams, the only way that happens, if we handily beat Georgia and Bama, is if there is that exact scenario you have postulated and how close those losses are.
quote:
There's probably gonna be 3 undefeated teams this year with 3 more teams that only have 1 loss to their undefeated conference Champs. We will be sitting at home.
I'm not so sure about that. Probably 1 in the B1G going into the championship game, but that could actually end up being none, a lot depends on Penn State and how they play vs Michigan and Ohio State.
Probably 1 in the ACC, either UNC or FSU. FSU probably has the easier path.
Big 12 depends on how Oklahoma finishes, something they are not known for doing very well.
Only Washington remains undefeated in the PAC-12 and they have yet to play USC, Utah, or Oregon State. I could easily see it being 2 undefeated if LSU runs the table.
The two worst-case scenarios for LSU are 4 undefeated P5 champs or an FSU close loss to UNC in the ACC championship game with three undefeated P5s, including UNC, and a 1 loss FSU who soundly beat LSU.
In addition to convincingly winning out, LSU needs a lot of help to make the CFP.

What about this defense makes you think we will be able to stop them. Milroe will bomb the shite out of our garbage secondary. He throws a great deep ball, and we are disastrous at defending that.
Posted on 10/17/23 at 9:24 am to Pax Regis
Because he isn't a good QB and they have their worst OL in Saban era. I liked what I saw from our defense last year and trust that we can be AVERAGE in the game. That is all JD needs

Maybe. He’s def one of the best. And just think, only a few weeks ago half the Rant wanted him benched even after it was clear to any non-retard that the defense was the problem.

This is what I was wondering as well. Their opinions are objective, and stats are subjective in their minds.
