I think this is pretty decided in Daniels' favor Jones/Tittle...that's just tough due to time periods and who saw those guys play live. Burrow and JR are the clear top 2. But I think it's pretty easy to put JD somewhere within 3 spots after them.

I think JD and Rohan are neck and neck now, with Rohan having the slight nod due to winning an SEC title. JD can easily move past that with another banner year.

JD should not be mentioned in the same sentence as Tittle/ Jones unless that sentence is something like JD couldn’t hold their jocks as a complete, game managing qb

Are we just ignoring rushing or something?

Are we forgetting passing? Davey was a much more prolific passer, in an era which much less potent offenses.

Flynn won a title and then spent 7 years in the NFL.

Mett can be debated for sure. But the fact that it’s questionable puts Daniels well out of the top 3.

This isn’t a serious discussion.

One of these is not like the other.

First thing I thought as well.

Mauck and Flynn also benefitted from stout defenses from the beginning of the season.

Burrow had to wait until game 6 or 7 before the 2019 D started to gel

Today’s performance was the best ever with at least 25 passes, so if he keeps that up, he’ll be the best ever. I know stats can be deceiving, but he was great today. It is hard to compare him to those other QBs, because most of them were pure passers, so they didn’t contribute to the offense’s success as much. If I get this Daniels consistently, I would only take Burrows over Daniels. I would take Daniels over all of the others.

Daniels would have won multiple NCs with some of those Miles teams

QB talent wasn’t the problem during the Miles years lol

BS! The starting DT, Charles Alexander, was injured in the first game and then was out for the season.
The other DT, Glenn Dorsey, missed several games, due to injuries.
DE, Rickey Jean Francois, missed several games because of suspension.
Fortunately those three played in the championship game.

“Jamarcus Russell is VASTLY superior to fricking Tommy Hodson”

Thanks for proving again that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

He only threw for 400 more yards with comparable attempts. He wasn't even as highly rated as a passer in 2001 as JD was last year. Only had 1 more passing TD.

You can say he was slightly more prolific, but "much" more? Lol no.

And, again, that's ignoring the 885 yards and 11 TDs on the ground.

Irrelevant to a discussion about QB play at LSU

We can ignore the statistical advantages because I know you're going to pretend like that eras and systems make the difference. JaMarcus Russell was the best quarterback in college football one year. Was Tommy Hodson ever the best quarterback in the SEC for a year?

CBK won’t start Nuss next year. He’ll go to the portal for a QB that can run.
