Dan Wolken: Jimbo Fisher continues to rob Texas A&M in broad daylight

Recruits, please wake up.

But maybe now it's becoming clearer at Texas A&M. The Jimbo Fisher era, at this point in time, has been a little more than a legal heist in plain daylight. It’s a complete flop – unable to produce results appreciably better than other Texas A&M coaches before him while also failing to be remotely entertaining.

But at some point for any fan base, the promises of what could happen in the future do not outweigh the reality of what they’re seeing on the field. And save for two seasons at Florida State when Fisher had Jameis Winston playing quarterback and one of the most talented rosters in the history of college football, he’s a three- or four-loss coach. It’s not a small sample size, either, but it’s what A&M has signed up for – to the tune of more than $100 million by the time it’s all said and done.

Breathlessly waiting for the day Woke-n writes an article like this about Marcus Freeman.

No but it doesn't take a Dan Wolken article to know this

With what the boosters have paid for the current roster, if he doesn't win it all next year he is going to be in a world of shite.
They will give him this year as they are all freshmen. I'll be most curious to see if they open the pocketbooks again for this recruiting class.

It’s refreshing to see at least someone in the media say this. Everyone hypes them up every year bc of jimbo and etc. yet they never live up to the hype or even come close. The commentators at yesterdays game were even saying things like”well it was always a ? on how this incoming class would perform. They got work to do but they’ll get there no doubt.” I mean this is jimbos 5th season how long are they going to keep up the charade?

And people here wanted Jimbo soo bad lol

No, he's still an insufferable d*ck whose reputation and "'celebrity" is created by cheap shot journalism. BUT, in this case, he actually has data to support his argument and, as he says, a significant sample size against which to measure performance. Jimbo has a problem. He needs to perform at a very high level NOW and he appears to be at least a year away from being able to fall back on superior talent to bail him out. I am watching his recruiting class for '23, which might be the canary in the coal mine...

Aggie boosters about to turn off the $$$ spigot.

Woodward tried hiring him twice.

Their fans are getting tired of Fisher now, but they can’t fire him because they owe him so much money. I see a lot of their freshmen class transferring in this world of transfer portal. He’s in deep shite if that happens.

I know a shrimp boat captain who will entertain you to tears. Just sayin'.

Didn't they even have a championship trophy made with Jimbo's name on it with a date to be determined?

With his salary and the ranches he owns, the only world of shite will be cow patties

I hope all the tards who wanted Jimbo at LSU can see how mediocre he is now.
Posted on 9/11/22 at 2:28 pm to purplepanther
This was either going to be some serious Miami 2001 shite going on at A&M or it was going to be a epic failure. With Jimbo, failure chance was high. You know that locker room culture sucks.

There will always be that oil painting to memorialize that one time they beat lsu in 7 overtime’s though.
Maybe they can sell that thing for 100M

Last year when the boosters put up all that money, they were led to believe that Jimbo had turned the corner. Then they get another 4 loss season and chickened out of their bowl game to avoid a 5th loss. Now the booster are wanting to see some results before putting up all of that money again. That's why their recruiting is doing so poorly compared to a year ago
