Blanton played in the 80s.

Livingston played in the 90s, was McDonald's All American, injury history, played in the NBA, currently coaches at Newman.

You definitely succeeded. Just messing.

I don't doubt almost everyone was getting something.

I recently spoke to an LSU player from the mid 90’s and he said without hesitation that not only did he receive “benefits” as a recruit and player, but so did others on the team and that every college DOES do it. This was a highly recruited player that could’ve gone anywhere, but “physical ailments” hindered him at LSU. Played in the NBA as well. Won’t directly mention his name because he’s still “involved” in south Louisiana as a coach. So Dale Brown can eat a dick.
I went to LSU in the mid-80s and wasn't connected to the basketball team. But I'm aware, in just random observances, of 3 basketball players getting benefits.

John Williams driving a brand new 5-series BMW, as I said in an earlier post.

Stefond Johnson driving a brand new 280-ZX (now Nissan 300ZX). When he got kicked off the team, I saw another basketball player driving the same car.

Don Redden used a credit card (not his own) to buy $1000 (now worth probably $3-4000) of men's clothes at a men's store where my buddy was working.

And that's only what I'm aware of, and I wasn't connected.

Johnny Jones’ brother accidentally found a bag of money driving thru LA on the side of the road just moments before Johnny committed to Dale. That was some kinda miracle. I know the guys that lost that bag.

Dale purposely broke rules and we loved him for it.

Damn. Dale doing a great job to alienate a lot of people who have supported and admired him over the years. Sad to see, since he was the only coach to ever bring consistent success to the program. He really would be well served to just not talk anymore. Which also sucks because he’s an interesting, intelligent guy.

Must suck seeing a 38 year old hot shot come into your former school and take your mantle as the best coach in school history in 4 short years.

John Brady had already surpassed Dale Brown in that respect.

Nice 3rd post. You've been waiting to tell that story.

I like how after his playing days were over, Johnny became an interpreter for Daddy Dale.

Hey dumbass, give us a rundown of brown vs Wade in their first 4 seasons at LSU. Make sure to include things like overall record, conference record, conference finishes, conference championships, postseason appearances, etc

If Wade played by the NCAA Tournament eligibility rules Dale Brown played under, LSU would not have made the tournament the last two years.

And Tony Benford got LSU to the Sweet 16, not Will Wade. Will Wade is 1-1 in the tournament in his first four years.

Remember, Dale Brown was plugging to retain Johnny Jones even as it was becoming more and more apparent that situation wasn't working out.

And it's true Dale stayed WAAAY too long courtside with LSU basketball. I remember reading an op-ed piece in 1984 asking for Brown's dismissal after a disappointing season and a loss first round to Dayton. He was still coaching LSU basketball 13 years later, and had just directed four straight losing seasons!

I always liked Dale Brown during his coaching days because he would get people motivated, but as I get older, I believe he wasted more talent than any other coach I can think of in recent memory.

Now, that jealous scumbag needs to shut his trap. It is so obvious to me that Dale is the "source" that the Dickster was using to proclaim our sanctions were coming. He has tarnished his legendary LSU status to the point that he and the Dickster can both fall off a cliff in the same car.

Forget Dale Brown. Wade has to reach the Final Four before year 10 or he's not even John Brady.

Baylor was in the bidding for John Wall.....It got to $150k, and they had to tap out.

Uh, you know they keep records of wins and losses, right?

Very ignorant statement. I assume you are very young and don't know LSU basketball history.
